Help for the archivist

Anyone who has used this type of bulletin board know how many pages typically are the maximum? For example, on EZBoard it was 20 pages and then older threads would drop off into the ether if not moved into an archive forum. I want to know at what point I should start archiving and not get caught off guard. Thanks!

Should I archive this forum, or should two-month old bitching be kept live?

I've looked into this before, but couldn't find anything. For a hoot, I just pulled up the phpBB users guide and did a "find" thingy on the whole manual for the word "maximum" and there's no mention of maximum number of pages per forum or anything even close in the ten or so in- stances that the word comes up.

I don't think there's any kind of maximum.
