I travel all the way to Chicago and what game to I get to watch? The Freakin' Braves! The White Sox game isn't on, but the damn Braves game is (was). What is wrong with these people?
cooby Aug 26 2005 11:17 PM |
Not on WGN?
GYC Aug 26 2005 11:19 PM |
Good job by Howie Rose on mentioning the no-no.
Rockin' Doc Aug 26 2005 11:19 PM |
Not the last time I checked. They were showing the local news instead.
Valadius Aug 26 2005 11:19 PM |
He's the weak link as always, that Howie.
MiniKnight Aug 26 2005 11:20 PM |

Zvon Aug 26 2005 11:30 PM |
Beltran singles.....YIPEE!
Elster88 Aug 26 2005 11:32 PM |
The Mets ripped the ball that inning. A couple of atem balls.
TheOldMole Aug 26 2005 11:35 PM |
OK, got the TV now, as Trax continues to look great.
GYC Aug 26 2005 11:36 PM |
There goes the no hitter. Damn you Howie Rose. And Randy Winn. And Chad Pennington, the $64 million piece of garbage.
Valadius Aug 26 2005 11:36 PM |
DAMN YOU BASEBALL DEMONS!!!!!

Zvon Aug 26 2005 11:39 PM |
someday.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 26 2005 11:40 PM |
MK will have to go to bed now. We were letting him stay up just in case there was history in the making. Oh well :(
Diamond Dad Aug 26 2005 11:41 PM OK, Mini Knight -- go to bed! |
Nowt that the no-no is over, it's bed time
GYC Aug 26 2005 11:42 PM |
I'd go to bed but the Mets don't have a big enough lead (10+ runs).
TheOldMole Aug 26 2005 11:48 PM |
Too bad Durham couldn't have made his error on that shot by Cairo a couple innings ago. Still, a baserunner is always nice.
Johnny Dickshot Aug 26 2005 11:53 PM |
Our offense is back.
Diamond Dad Aug 26 2005 11:54 PM Welcome back, Traks |
Now, you're a Met pitcher, so you have to understand that you only get ONE RUN to work with. WE don't want to spoil you!
cooby Aug 26 2005 11:55 PM |
Diamond Dad! They had 19 runs the other night!
Diamond Dad Aug 26 2005 11:58 PM Ya, but we don't want Traks to think . . . |
that he's going to get run support.
TheOldMole Aug 26 2005 11:59 PM |
Another 123 for Trax. Wow.
cooby Aug 27 2005 12:02 AM |
Kinda weird that every night at exactly midnight, this site goes down for about a minute.
Diamond Dad Aug 27 2005 12:02 AM Sshhhh |
Nobody tell Traks that this isn't Pt. St. Lucie
holychicken Aug 27 2005 12:02 AM |
Great, the san fran feed has to show the collision.
Frayed Knot Aug 27 2005 12:03 AM |
I like Trax batting there.
GYC Aug 27 2005 12:07 AM |
Screw Beltran.
Edgy DC Aug 27 2005 12:07 AM |
There goes the no hitter. Damn you Howie Rose. And Randy Winn. And Chad Pennington, the $64 million piece of garbage.
Zvon Aug 27 2005 12:14 AM |
only 84 pitches by trash up to this point.
TheOldMole Aug 27 2005 12:15 AM |
Armando Benitez up in the bullpen for SF.
Zvon Aug 27 2005 12:20 AM |
That ump is squeezin Trachsel.
Edgy DC Aug 27 2005 12:20 AM |
Tying guy on third with two out.
Johnny Dickshot Aug 27 2005 12:22 AM |
Hernandez warming. I can't imagine he's well rested after last night's turn, but give WWSB credit -- he knows who his best reliever is.
Zvon Aug 27 2005 12:23 AM |
my fingers and toes are crossed.
metirish Aug 27 2005 12:26 AM |
Trax is spent it seems, if he gets through this inning it will be something else, either way it has been a great effort.
smg58 Aug 27 2005 12:27 AM |
I'm worried this is one batter too many.
Zvon Aug 27 2005 12:27 AM |
yes, it has. And Seavers right. he hung that off speed pitch. he gettin tired.
smg58 Aug 27 2005 12:28 AM |
OK, everybody exhale...
GYC Aug 27 2005 12:28 AM |
Trax gets out of the 8th. Nice. Winn pops up on 3-1. 1-0 Mets going to Top of the 9th.
TheOldMole Aug 27 2005 12:29 AM |
Trax to leave the game after a brilliant job.
metirish Aug 27 2005 12:29 AM |
WOW, he did it, that folks is one hard nosed SOB, welcome back Steve Trachsel.
Johnny Dickshot Aug 27 2005 12:30 AM |
That was a hell of an effort by Trax tonite.
Zvon Aug 27 2005 12:34 AM |
really. and yea, welcome back. This is a quality start plus. we need trachsel for this stretch run.
metirish Aug 27 2005 12:35 AM |
Here comes Blooper....fasten the seat belts people.
Zvon Aug 27 2005 12:37 AM |

i am stressin here.
Elster88 Aug 27 2005 12:37 AM |
Please don't fuck this up Braden.
GYC Aug 27 2005 12:38 AM |
It's as if they are expecting Looper to fail. Did a double switch and already have Padilla warming up before he threw a pitch.
metirish Aug 27 2005 12:38 AM |
Double to right center field..
Johnny Dickshot Aug 27 2005 12:38 AM |
Oddly, Padilla warming up ... before Loopy surrenders a leadoff double.
holychicken Aug 27 2005 12:39 AM |
San fran announcers giving Looper props. . . of course he immediately gives up a double.
Edgy DC Aug 27 2005 12:39 AM |
Missing Mike Cameron right now.
Zvon Aug 27 2005 12:39 AM |
shittttttt
Elster88 Aug 27 2005 12:40 AM |
I'm really surprised that they didn't bunt there.
Edgy DC Aug 27 2005 12:40 AM |
Looper had the runner caught, but they didn't have anybody covering second fast enough.
Frayed Knot Aug 27 2005 12:41 AM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Aug 27 2005 12:43 AM |
I think what Beltran was "afraid" of was having the ball go by him if he dove for that ball but missed. That's the wise play there. Neither he nor Diaz - nor any Diaz replacement you might want to name - were likely to catch that one.
Elster88 Aug 27 2005 12:41 AM |
Ground out to first. Two out runner on third. I don't need this kind of stress before bed.
holychicken Aug 27 2005 12:41 AM |
1 more out. . .
metirish Aug 27 2005 12:42 AM |

Mets starters on this road trip have a 0.97 ERA...I mean what can you say?
Zvon Aug 27 2005 12:45 AM |
and we never needed it more than now. afew more in a row would be nice. like from now until Oct.
GYC Aug 27 2005 12:45 AM |
No, Looper, Pedro Feliz and Moises Alou are NOT tough outs you FOOL!

Edgy DC Aug 27 2005 12:51 AM |

Well, to be a touch pedantic, I think we could've used five in a row in October '88.

Zvon Aug 27 2005 01:01 AM |
Just in time to catch battlestar gallactica......kool
Nymr83 Aug 27 2005 01:03 AM |
winning any of the last 5 (the mets lost them all) would have made the mets a wild card winner in '98 as well.
metirish Aug 27 2005 01:19 AM |
Foget the WC, the Mets are four games out in the East, should be a great finish to the season....
Frayed Knot Aug 27 2005 01:28 AM |
- Looper on why Padilla was warming up:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT EVER MENTION THE LAST THREE GAMES OF THE 1998 SEASON EVER AGAIN Long story. Lets just say that same day as Cubs v Giants at Wrigley I had to deliver lunch to guys at a radio station... Steve
Valadius Aug 27 2005 01:45 AM |
Great game by Trax... although he should have been lifted after 7.2. He looked EXHAUSTED out there.
Let's Go Mets!!! Aug 27 2005 02:38 AM |
Amazin!
seawolf17 Aug 27 2005 08:05 AM |
Great IGT. All three members of the Knight family, a snice comment by our Astros-fan-in-residence, a homer by The World's Greatest Ballplayer, and oh, a big W in Trax's big comeback.
Rotblatt Aug 27 2005 08:53 AM |
A fine, fine game (and IGT) last night! As y'all said, Trachs looked dominant--I was thinking no-hitter after the first inning and that super wide strike zone the ump was calling, which probably jinxed the damn thing right there.
Edgy DC Aug 27 2005 10:30 AM |
Could've used an appearance by Nancy Lopez, I think.
