BV in the Bvronx?

What will BV in the Bvronx do for you?

i think the recent "low point" in Met-loyalty had to be last summer, before Wright came up. I'm not saying now is a high point, but it's higher than it was then.

Turn you against BV?

A low point?

I'll copy Frayed's answer sheet, except I'll add that I didn't have anything against Torre until he acted as Clemens' apologist in 2000 after Clemens beaned Piazza.

If Bobby Valentine was to become manager of the Yankees, I would be happy that he had been given another chance at managing. I would, however, hope that his minions lost as frequently as possible.

It would suck. OTOH, they'd probably fire him in 2 months.

I could never turn against Bobby V, one of the best managers the Mets have ever had and a great person, IMO Bobby will get a chance again in MLB but not with the MFY, there should be plenty of other job openings for him before the job in the Bronx, having said all that by all accounts Booby is very happy in Japan, The Chiba Lotte Marines are in second place in the Pacific League, 4.5 games out.

I think a more likely landing will be in Dodgertown, since Bobby at least played there.

Good call Doc Tee, plus he has that great friendship with Lasorda. Here is an open letter form Bobby to Marines fans, from the Marines website.

Of course, what I meant (at the deadly risk of redundancy) was MORE of a follower than now. We're all aware of the Yankees, and twenty-right other teams, so to an extent we all "follow" the Yankees. But if you're a catch-an-inning-if-I'm-flipping-around-the-dial kind of guy, will this make you stay for an extra inning? If you watch an occasional Yankee game, will this make you catch a few more?

Not me, nope.

Do you honestly think that we'd all start rooting for the MFYs just because they drive a dump truck full of money to Bobby V's door and make him drink the Kool Aid?

My allegiance is to this club, not to ex-members of the fraternity. I loved listening to Tim McCarver when I was a kid, but I didn't watch MFY games because he was broadcasting them. I don't watch games that Al Leiter pitches, regardless of who he's pitching for.

No. Because seeing as how they're the local team and the only other team in MLB that I've ever had a consistant rooting interest in (just a negative one in this case) I already know them better than any other team, save the Mets of course, and follow them as closely I can now. What you've got to do is find the seeming multitude of Met fans who spent 1996 saying "ya gotta root for these Yanx because of Doc & Darryl & Coney". No I didn't then and I won't in the future no matter who's on the roster. If I were the type to believe in deserved fate I'd say that those NYM fans who pulled for the NYY squad of the mid-90s were the cause of the string of championships to follow that they now decry. In other words; their dogma wound up getting run over by their karma.

Not all of you. Some of you. Do you honestly think it's all about the money? That BV wouldn't get a thrill to manage crosstown, whatever money is involved (and you know George isn't cheap, so it will be considerable $$$)? You honestly think some of you wouldn't be thinking that Randolph is by far the least competent manager in town if BV were in the Bvronx?

All about the money? No. But money talks, and it's usually one of the bigger factors that go into these decisions.

I would be thinking this. I wouldn't switch teams as a result. Out of curiosity, where did this come from? Is there a Bobby V to the Bronx rumor out there?
