A Seaver post worth hailing!

What a great day. Graves is finally sent down to AAA and the CF clan has increased the CPF roster by one with the addition of Ryan.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Glad Graves got sent down, and in general, I thought Minaya was pretty good, but when Steve asked him about Seo, and Minaya said, "You have to remember, Seo wasn't pitching that well in Norfolk," I kind of flipped out.

What planet is Minaya living on? Twelve quality starts in a row? I'll grant him that it's not QUITE as good as he's been up here, but he was still pitching lightyears better than Ishii.

Anyone else catch the interview?

I don't have anything to add, I just wanted to get in on hailing GYC's Seaver post.

They also said Trax to start on Friday. That gives Benson an extra day off after his 2/3-in ning start?

Why is the size of hail always compared to sports equipment,
but tumors always to fruits and vegetables?

No, marathon, that's you who looks like a hairless crystal troll.

(Just kidding. You left a hanger over the plate, so I had to swing.)

Dr. Joseph and his son, Dr. Jeffrey Dellarusso must not have done a good job on Omar if he thinks he saw Seo pitch poorly in Virginia.

Sounds to me like we're not going to have a "Memories of ..." thread.

I guess that's not one of those blade-related complications that they've managed to avoid.

(Very nice, I had a good laugh).

I hope that someday--in the grand tradition of Charles Barkley being misquoted in his autobiography--Omar blames his horrendous reading of that ad's copy on his eyes.

]In the wake of Steve Trachsel’s return to the Mets, the team designated Danny Graves for assignment, meaning they have 10 days to trade him, release him or outright him to a minor league roster if he clears waivers…

“We feel we're a better team with Jacobs as opposed to Graves,” Willie Randolph said, as quoted by Ben Shpigel in the New York Times…

It is the second time Graves has been DFA’d this season…

“I need a couple of days to think about it,” Graves said, as quoted by Adam Rubin in the Daily News. “It's just weird, two times in one year. I never imagined that would happen.”…

According to Rubin, Graves is now considering retirement…

Good riddance.

I'm as happy as anyone that we DFA's Graves. But I wish him no ill will. On a strictly human level, you have to feel sorry for the guy - he tried his best, and he didn't mean to suck.

He has to clear waivers before he can report to Norfolk.
And if/when he does, chances are that he'll be brought right back when the rosters expand on Sept 1.
