I Sing of Heilman

Listen, firstly, as a Met, he's got to suffer through his team's crumbling lead, then he's held out of the game until the rest of the suckers are used up, he probably got booed by Mets fans in Philly when he entered, he immediately gives up a double. Then he gets squeezed.

He should stop concentrating on looking mean and start concentrating on pitching.

I like Heilman. I think he has gotten a bad rap. Up until this year. This year he's been bad.

Heilman hasn't always had the mean face while he's pitching.

The little bit of talk radio I heard today still involved a fair amount of Heilman bashing.

I hope he leaves, becomes a starter, and wins three straight Cy Youngs.

No, that's not my reference point. If anything, it's to the e.e. cummings poem, "i sing of olaf, glad and big."

Speaking of Aaron the starter - he threw 60 pitches. That's not too far from the number of pitches he might throw in a first test start. (Yeah, I know. It was in three innings. Don't dazzle me with logic, I'm on a roll) Why not give him the chance to start? Later

I'm surprised to see that our friend Herb only has 19 posts. As infrequent a visitor as he is, I believe he has taken on cult status around here. His posts are always noticed and someone is always begging him to stay. Alas, Herb vanishes as soon as he posts. Who is this mysterious CPFer? What drives him? Does The Shadow know?

I hope he stays, becomes a starter, and wins three straight Cy Youngs. Or four; I'm not going to stop him after three.

Well shoot, Mr. soup I get driven by a Ford F150 pickup, round about a 1988. It's sea green and white. I kinda picked it to match my wife Molly's eyes. It does have a shadow when the sun's out, is that what you mean?

It's like when a small car drives into the circus and a thousand clowns come pouring out.

well sir sometimes I have to wait for my wife Molly to get off the phone so I can dial up the intranet. Molly and her sister Wanda get to gabbing and there's no telling how long they'll be.
