Hey people call me Jeets on this board, despite the fact that I physically hate him and everything he stands for, and I sincerely do not want David Wright to go down the path that Jeter chose. You show some anger at Mantle being passed by essentially a DH, you will now be referred to as "Mantle" by me going forward!

Thome's been a full-time DH for 3 years now (since his trade to Chicago) but I don't know that there's any reason why he couldn't play the field if the DH didn't exist. I mean I'm all for killing that rule but I'm not going to take anything away from Thome just because of it. If Mantle had taken better care of himself maybe he would have lasted a while longer and made himself tougher to catch.
