So I drove home from work through torrential rain and flooded roads. I got into my house just in time to hear this on the local tv station:

"There is a tornado alert for the town of New Fairfield, near the intersection of routes 37 and 39."

Buys and girls, that is less than 1 mile from my house.

We ate dinner in the basement family room, waiting for the roaring sound that never came.
Whew!

Watching the Weather Channel I was expecting not only heavy rain but also very high winds here in the Bronx but the high winds never did come , thankfully.

Plenty of rain but now it's beautiful out. The News this morning showed the Bronx River Parkway and as usual it was flooded , in some parts flooded just to under the road signs.
