Cubs @ Astros Ike'd out

... at least for the first two games on Friday & Saturday

With the Astros suddenly back in the picture they're going to have to make them up. Both have a mutual day off on Monday so they may try to get 3 games in over 2 days on Sunday & Monday.

Games have been re-scheduled for tonight and Monday in Milwaukee
That can't make Houston fans happy as it'll pretty much make for a pro-Cubbies crowd only 100+ miles from Chicago.
It also still leaves one game to make up, and that one will be after the final day of the season 'if neccessary'.

Milwaukee is a strange choice. I thought they were considering St. Louis, who is on the road this weekend and next week too.

The remnants of Ike are cruising through Missouri as we speak and it side-swiped Dallas as well. Also expected to brush past Cleveland & Cincinnati.

The ticket selling edge that Milwaukee gives MLB with a close-by home team (plus a roof - it's been raining in Chicago for two days now) was probably the biggest selling point, just not one that's going to make the Astros happy.

Selig helps out his old team this way.

...and after 15.2 innings, the Astros get their first hit of the series.

But down 6, it's probably too little too late. Every loss Houston suffers takes one team further away from the Wild Card hunt.

Yup. If the Astros can get effectively slapped aside, the Mets path to the postseason becomes a little less cluttered.
