mark grace really is not pleasing to the ears. how the hell do they go about hiring awful, awful announcers like him? i mean, there's gotta be better guys out there than this, just hoping for a job, right?

Not Johan's best day, but I'm not going to argue with 7 inning shutouts. Schoeneweis is the first lefty out of the pen. Usually that's Feliciano's spot but he hasn't exactly shown that he deserves to keep it.

He also earned a rep through interviews on shows like Jim Rome where he would frequently tell R, and sometimes X rated stories from the locker room (It's Grace who gets credit for bringing the "Slump Buster" out in the open). So his Crash Davis/Jim Bouton mentality probably gave execs the idea that he'd be great for their "target" audience.

Would have been nice to get some runners in the 8th if only to turn the lineup over back to the top. Gotta force a run now with the bench seeing as how 8 & 9 are due to lead off. I'd like to see Murphy be one of the PHers On edit: I had forgotten Gonzalez was a lefty - hadn't seen him in so long

This was a bad beat. Santana went out and pitched as an ace is expected to do, but the offense let him down. Too many squandered chances came back to bite the Mets. We need the offense to show up in tonight's second game.

Now THAT was a good old fashion 2007 collapse game. Get the lead early, squander a bunch of chances, the offense goes to sleep and the BP gives it up. I am not happy right now.
