...for the offense!

Our 2nd and 3rd pitchers got their asses kicked. The bullpen was good yesterday but imploded spectacularly today. 2007esque I'd call it for today's performance.

Last year we would've lost those games and would still be up only 1.5 games. 23 runs in two days and we're up four in the loss.

When Reyes, Wright, Beltran and Delgado all hit, it's hard to hold this team down.

LETS GO METS.

I'm happy.

Wayne Hagin brought up the 1983 White Sox tonight: Win Ugly.

Two big wins fer sure.

Seeing the Mets blow a 7-1 lead to the Nationals brought on a bad sense of September 2007 deja vu.

But as you said, this year's team wins this game anyway.

Two days in a row where the magic number drops by two. Two VERY good days in a row.

Two sobering notes, though: Consecutive bad outings by Mets starters isn't good. And those Nationals are a tough team. I'm not looking forward to playing four games in their house next week.

Those 6 games we played against them last September when they averaged [u:557052a6f1]9.5 runs/game[/u:557052a6f1] seems to be repeating on us.
No explanation for it, but it would be nice if we'd cut it out.

Wright's homerun in the 8th made me especially happy. . .and Beltran's quite resurgence (or at least overshadowed) makes me smile as well.

Wow, if you told me I'd be thinking about Ron Kittle today, I'd've called you a liar.

Did Howie balance it with a mention of Jerry Koosman's time with that squad?
