Never would have thought that Don Baylor had as many steals as Lenny Dykstra.

Henderson's 1409 isn't usually talked about in the "unbreakable" records category the way 511, 2,632, 4,256 or 56 are.

But seeing how far away Jose Reyes (the most prolific base stealer in MLB for the past 5 years) is from Henderson, that record seems destined to last forever.

If Jose steals 50 per year for the next 15 years, he'll still be several hundred steals short of Rickey.

Rickey was the greatest. He said so himself, but I didn't believe him.

But he was right.

Reyes' SB attempts have gone down a lot this year. I wonder what caused that. maybe willie ran reyes a lot more than charlie likes to run him...

attgig betrays that he's secretly a Phillies fan with his Freudian slip.

Without looking it up, I'd guess in part because JR's reaching base with more XBH's than last year, and also because he got some religion as to how reckless his PO's and CS's were at the beginning of the year and got more conservative. Generally as success rates decrease, so should attempts.

I'm sure he meant Charlie Samuels...who as we all know, secretly controls all things Mets.

We did win last night, but the black hats and black jerseys on Monday and Tuesday should have told us something right off the bat. I mean, how can one expect to win when stuck in that abomination of a uniform?
