Greatest Frontmen of All Time

Here's a question that's been percolating in my brain recently: who is the greatest frontman of all time? Is it Bruce Springsteen? Freddie Mercury? Mick Jagger? Robert Plant? Who do you consider the greatest frontman of all time?

Arthur Fiedler.

Guy Lombardo.

Doc Severenson.

I thought it was Gammons that was crying.

Manuel said after the game that "Wagner is probably done for the season".

It's a tough question to answer , didn't we try to before?

Axl Rose was great for a short time , Bono is great for a long time, Christy Dignam from Aslan is great.

I get people off! And I find the one guy who isn't getting off, and I MAKE him get off!

I'm partial to Bono, but have we all forgotten Jim Morrison?

I've spoken to two folks who actually saw the Doors. One guy told me that the rest of the band struggled to sing while Morrison was off to the side projectile vomiting. I asked the other guy a few years later to confirm this story and he answered, "Oh, is that what he was doing?"

Anyone want to vote for Dennis de Young? He'll be at Opus 40 in October. (I'm not producing the concert)

I hope his voice doesn't put cracks in the sculptures.

Oh my. The Wacken reunion concert. Jay-Jay's wig was firghtening.

Let's just say Dee was kind and patient to an aspiring journalist while he was in college. And he was a good Massapequan, too!

I was just goofin', that was the quick footage I could find. I used to go see
Twisted back in the olden days when they did the clubs. They were always
twice as loud as everyone else and seemed like they should be doing some-
thing bigger but they kept on doing the small places until they had that one
spurt of MTVdom.

Knew a girl who was French's gal-pal for years, she was a twisted sister her-
self but that's probably all I should type on that front.

Mick Jagger. He pretty much invented the rock front man (yes, there were plenty of groups who had them, but Jagger was completely different), and is the model of many of those listed here.

Roger Daltrey is also up there, but had competition from the rest of the band.

James Brown didn't invent nuttin'? I mean, what Mick invented was alive and well for a long time in R&B.

And the Stones were playing R&B, originally; it was just being called something else.

Dolly Parton has a great front, man.

I'll take Bon Scott. IMO, Back In Black would have been the greatest rock album of all time if it were Bon singing on it rather than Brian Johnson.
