Jesus that was brutal from Milledge...Murphy lined to center , Lastings had it drop in front of him but then let it bounce past him all the way to the wall.... Reyes scored from first.

Also brutal:

Runner on third with no outs and we get strikeout, popup, popup.

Not a good sign.

Phillies already up 2-0 in the first as well.

Church just looks terrible.

Maybe we give a start to Endy on Friday?

mi: Lastings had it drop in front of him but then let it bounce past him all the way to the wall <<<

Then jogs to get the ball as it rolls to the wall. It's poor baseball body
language to people who pay attention that stuff when the young buck
who can run like a deer simply trots after making a mistake to boot.

Casey Kotchman homers off Hamels in Atlanta to tie it, 2-2, bottom 2nd.

Schneider!

Yo my name is Schneid
I will not be denied

We are up 5-0 through 3. R-Hey getting the start looks like it's not a disaster.

And the Schneid hits his second homer of the night!

Two homers from the Schneid???

OK, who is that, and what have they done with Brian Schneider.

Not complaining, mind you.

A Reyes robbed of a hit to LF , the outfielder practically falls down , rolls over , losses the ball in the lights and still catches the damn thing , fucking Harris.

come on santana, get us 2 more outs!

Nymr83
Sep 18 2008 07:17 PM

Santana gets through the 7th, strands 2 after allowing a run. lets see if the shitpen can hold it

Smith had Harris struck out there, and the ump blew it. Single on next pitch.
2 on 2 out with Nieves coming up.

HahnSolo
Sep 18 2008 07:34 PM

Another 2 strike single makes it 7-2. 2 men on.

Stinking Schoenweis. Whenever he gets in a game, the should just wave the first two batters to first then take him out and save us all a lot of time.

HahnSolo
Sep 18 2008 07:52 PM

One out, then two singles from Schoenweis. Jerry to the pen.

Game over in Atlanta.

All I can say is that the Braves had better lay down and roll over for us like they did for Philly.

How about a DP play ball?

Nymr83
Sep 18 2008 07:56 PM

I was hoping that I would coax that out of him instead of the inevitable BB he seems to issue.

2 in the loss column over the Brew Crew.

Oh, and thanks Johan.

Sooner or later, the Phillies will lose a game, too.

I just hope the Braves continue their weekday habit of rolling over once we get down there.

Some good signs tonight:
- a couple of nice ABs from Church
- Reyes continues to come out of his Sept swoon
- 87th straight solid game from Johan
- Schneid
- Murphy determined to prove he's no fluke
- Argenis got one out of the infield (just one though ... and it was still an out)

To say they rolled over is a bit of an exaggeration. 2 of the 3 losses were one run games.

I think the Phils will have a little tougher time with the red hot Marlins than they did with Atlanta.

Back from Nationals Park, our third game in a row. This one was obviously the most fun. A nice moment: when Santana came to bat in the 2d, the belching doofus behind me said "here's a strikeout" like he knew anything. At two strikes, he said "one more" and then Johan doubled. As I sat down, I said to my son, loudly, "there a strikeout." I'm sure the guy heard me. He only belched for the rest of the night. After the game, Mets fans high fived as we walked up the aisle.

Awesome! Glad you had fun -- and took care of the dufous!

When I saw Johan pitch in DC in April, he had two doubles in the game.

The man likes hitting in Nationals Park.

Yup. Especially pleased with The Schneid. HRs from the No. 8 hitter always seem to kill the other team.
