You Might Have Jammed It Up Your Own Ass Again When...

1. When Robinson Cancel is your best hitter during the last week of the season... You might have jammed it up your own ass again.

2. When there are no relief pitchers in your employ who can retire a batter of the opposite hand, and really don't even dominate ones of the same hand... You might have jammed it up your own ass again.

When you lose your fifth starter before the season, your left-fielder for all but 15 minutes, your closer for the last 7 weeks and your third-best pitcher for the last six weeks.....

When you put together a lineup that can barely score without home runs or other team errors.

When you play an elimination game with a) a rookie batting 5th, b) a guy you signed as a minor league FA batting 6th, c) a guy who was a mop-up guy with a last place team pitching better than any other reliever you have.

Funny thread. I don't want to hear about injuries though.

The secondbaseman you have signed for three more years is the last guy off the bench, behind AA infielders playing the outfield, a 37-year-old utility guy pulled off the waiver wire, and a 258-pound minor-league veteran catcher.

Cancel's gotta be over three bills.

Your front office apparently keeps issuing the team calenders that end on August 31st.

You Might Have Jammed It Up Your Own Ass Again When... you bullied the Magic Number Thread into remission with insults and other assorted offenses.

Ironically, the worst offenders had their very own Magic Number Threads going. Only they were called standings or playoffs odd threads. Same thing, wouldn't you say?

Well, that's a tough row to hoe, since he's only listed a six feet. Although the same sources have him at --- sit down for this --- 190.

(Slightly Off-Topic insofar as this post is not about Cancel) Remember Sherman Douglas? The spritely legendary SU point guard and NBA player? (From your other posts, I know that you would remember him.) He was listed at 6'0", sometimes 6'1". I once stood right next to him at an M Street bar during his Junior season and was able to look down onto the top of his head quite easily. Sherman's 5'8", tops.

The listed weights are correct, it's just that Cancel is made of Stay-Puft marshmallow.
