Not an easy choice , I'm 60 / 40 going for the Brewers.

I'm rooting for an early exit by the Phillies, mainly so I can stop hearing about them.

Gwreck Oct 01 2008 08:19 AM |
Another sweep of the Phillies in the first round would do the trick.

Brewers. I've got nothing against them. Not like the Phillies.

The Brewers aren't even in the National League as far as I'm concerned. Go Phils.

good. in this contest, i'm rooting for injuries.

In my mind, the Mets lost the WC, the Brewers didn't win it. I like Ryan Braun ("The Hebrew Hammer") and Corey Hart helped my fantasy team. I wish nothing but despair for the Phillies and their fans.

Brew Crew.

The Brewers lost the Wild Card before the Mets lost it.

The Brewers. Primarily to shut up the Philles phans whom I live among.

Scarlett and I have the same perspective on this series.

I wish for Prince Fielder to assume the Ving Rhames role from "Pulp Fiction" and go medieval on the asses of the Phillies. There is no ambivalence here. Whatever tiny shred of admiration I had for the Phillies' ability to turn it on in September while other teams turn it off was lost to the sign the Phillies fan at CPB held up on Saturday. It had our NY and the phrase "UNIVERSAL SIGN FOR CHOKING".

The window of opportunity is ope'd only so long when your stars are really really fat. So why not let the Brews have their moment?

Phuck the Phillies. Go Brew.

I can't root for the Phillies. Ever.

No, the Mets f'd up everything. The Brewers managed to pull out of their own tailspin to take advantage of our fuck up. No ill will toward them.

Phillies

My thoughts exactly. They better make it worth losing, dang it!

WP: I always tend to root according to the same league/same division loyalty rule<<<

cooby Oct 01 2008 07:08 PM |
Now stop it! He did not pick the same as I did on all of these!
|
Kong76 Oct 01 2008 07:10 PM |
Oh jeez, getting scolded over here.

Good point. I didn't root for the Braves. For some reason I just don't have the hate for Philadelphia that I did for the Braves. Maybe because the Braves always whupped the Mets while with the Phillies the Mets have basically whupped themselves.

Well, there are worse reasons for doing things... I'm only rooting for one thing in the playoffs - anyone but the Phillies.
|
soupcan Oct 01 2008 07:19 PM |
I've hated the Phillies since the days of Bull-Schmidt.
|

And you don't even have to live with their phans!

That's actually another reason why I hated the Braves because I lived among their band-wagon hopping fans in VA during the peak of their success from 1991-98. Conversely, the only Phillies fan I know is the aforementioned 3-year old boy. There's something about a team's fans that can make one hate the team. I've long thought it would be more appropriate to chant "Yankee Fans Suck!"

I don't like the Phillies. I like them the least of all the teams. Rollins, Myers and Hamels are about as unlikable as they come.

FYI. Ex-Mets on both active squads and coaching staffs
