No way. It's just not possible. There's no way Axl Rose will ever finish that album.

Youtube says these are from 1988 down on 11th Street in NYC. I would have
loved to get whacked over the head by GNR in a small place like The Ritz
when they kicked ass.

My college roomie and I were off to a G 'n' R acoustic show at The World downtown in 1988. As we were about to get on the subway and realized we had just enough for tickets and tokens and absolutely no margin for error (or food or drinks). We cursed our luck and went back up to our dorm room, and the band broke the next week.

Hence the title.

Thanks for the vids KC , 1988 would have been a great time to see them play. Growing up in Tipperary I had visions of seeing them at the Whiskey in LA. Didn't happen but I did see them at Slane Castle in 1992 , great show but by then Axl had 50 people on stage with him.

Saw one of Axl's incarnations at MSG at what turned out to be their last US show to date (they blew off Philly the next night and the tour was cancelled). They kinda sucked. And what I've heard -- leakwise -- off this disc kinda blows too.

Pass.

Did he have to give us a cover of "Revolution #9" for the first minute?

Seriously. This ship sailed 10 years ago and his former band is still making good music with Scott Weiland up front.

Axl, thy name is irrelevance.

Though I will admit that Use Your Illusion, I and II, still hold up today as listenable.

Thanks to the G&R breakup we got Velvet Revolver. Digging that band.

I agree, but they kicked Weiland out and are currently searching for someone to replace him.

So much for that.

Steven Adler is one of the "celebrities" tonight in the second season of "Celebrity Rehab" . It's a horrible show to watch as there is nothing entertaining in watching anyone go through that.

Adler getting fired led to Matt Sorum, now of Revolver. Of course, Axl fired Sorum but got in good with Slash. Thus Revolver. Sorum was once married to a high school classmate of mine.

Dr Pepper flowing as new Guns album arrives

Thu Oct 23, 2008 8:02pm EDT

By Jonathan Cohen

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Guns N' Roses fans thirsting for the band's first album of new material in 17 years will have a sweet, fizzy treat to savor as they listen.

Dr Pepper is making good on a promise to provide every person in America a can of the soft drink if "Chinese Democracy" were to arrive in 2008, and has revealed details of the plan.

"We never thought this day would come," Dr Pepper vp marketing Tony Jacobs said Wednesday. "But now that it's here all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."

Interested fans are being asked to visit DrPepper.com (http://www.drpepper.com) on November 23, the day "Chinese Democracy" is released in the U.S. exclusively via Best Buy. After registering online, fans will receive a coupon redeemable for a 20-ounce Dr Pepper wherever the drink is sold.

The twist: The coupon is available for only 24 hours and will expire on February 28.

Matt Sorum: horrible hair.

I always thought Axl did the Cult a favor stealing Sorum away from them. His hair was hurting their sound.

Put my bet on yes regarding an eventual reunion by the Appetite for Destruction lineup. As chock full o' jerkweeds as that group seemed to be, the money will just be too huge.

Oh, they'll have to get back together eventually, as much as Axl would belittle the notion now.
