Hey, my brother made and co-stars in a vaguely autobiographical independent film. They are trying to get festival-ed and get screenings in the near future and stuff.

Check out the trailer!

Tell your brother that he can feel free to drop my name if he's submitting the film to the Trenton Film Festival this spring.

Best of luck to him!

Luncbucket bro "Metfairy said you might be interested in a public screening of my new movie."

TFF rep "Who?"

Lunchbucket bro "Metfairy. She said you might be interested in screening my film."

TFF rep "Metfairy? I have no idea who or what you're talking about."

He plays the longhair rocker. The other guy is his college roommate who became his brother-in-law. I guess that makes him my brother in law, sort of.

- "So, it's about these two guys hitting middle age but can't give up their dream of being rockers."

- "I'm sorry. This is an indy film festival. Sounds like somebody can't give up his dream of being Jack Black."

- "And one of these guys is married into this conservative South Asian family."

- "I'm listening."

Question 1: One of these guys is playing a Paul McCartney model Hofner Violin bass. Is the same guy who got a track on the Paul McCartney tribute album Listen to What the Man Said?

Question 2: If so, is that the bass from the album sleeve?

Tangential Side Question 1: Did you notice Karl Wallinger of World Party, like Paul McCartney (and Jimi Hendrix), plays a righthanded guitar lefthanded?

TSQ 2: Did you notice World Party's bassist also plays the Hofner?

No, different guy. I can check, but if i had to guess the bass belongs to their other friend who's a Beatles guy and a bass player and apparently has a small part in the film too.

Cool, KB and I will try and make it. Main Street in T'town is kinda hopping
on Fri and Sat nights these days, and that's a very nice historic theater.

That'd show 'em.

She stubbornly refuses to rawk, however, though she totally has the hair and loves AC/DC.

Update: this gig got cancelled... they booked an act they could make $$ on instead, or maybe they heard Edgy's chick was opening. Either way, no showing 12/12. But I'll keep ya posted!

Any distributor reps show?

John Cougar Lunchbucket

Not sure about distributors. I think the showing was more like a "soft-opening" where they got some advice and reactions from a friendly audience.

The good news is they got the big stuff right -- the film looks great, sounds good, the performances were excellent, there were some laughs, etc. It's basically a movie about complicated relationships, and that all came off believeable and credible.

The only real criticism was that the story didn't move along as efficiently as it shoulda -- it's basically a 1:45 film that took 2 hrs to watch -- and so they're going to try and edit themselves down a little before taking the next step.

Anyway, so hopefully by the time you guys see it it will be better.
