Marlins might want to think about shifting Uggla to first.

Papers suggest Cantu or a rookie, Gaby something, could play 1B next year.

The Marlins have probably thought about shifting everybody to first. First move of the offseason.

Cantu has experience at 1b, and they have 3bman Dallas McPherson, who hit 42hrs in AAA last season, waiting for a shot. It seems the obvious move. I'm sure they'll also give Gaby Sanchez a long look in the Spring, but he's 24 and ha never played above AA (other than a late season cup of coffee with the Marlins last year), so they may want to have him start the year at AAA and see what happens.

A good sell-high move for the Marlins. Jake has power, but his OBP sucks, he's still not a safe play against lefties, and an average-sized headstone would stop more ground balls at first base. Nunez is a pretty good reliever, too.

Now the Royals will hate the Mets, too.

Just when you thought the Royals weren't stupid anymore, they go and trade for another 1B--and one that can't take a walk, to boot.

Do they still have "walks" in the American League? I thought that was another one of those 19th Century rules that Hank Steinbrenner and the rest of his league had banished.
