Heroes - Season Three

Kinda sucks.

so far, the convolutions are less than compelling. But I like that Sylar is a Petrelli brother.

I really wish this was a good show. I wanted it to be, but since the lame finale of season one, I've been pretty down on the show. My son likes it, and I watch it with him, but if not for that, I'd have dropped it by now.

They don't seem to have any idea of where the story is going, and by now it's just an enormous mess.

I felt the same way about Lost after the first two seasons, and gave up on it. I'm still in this one; I think they'll get there.

I still love Lost and I'm sure I'll stick with it until the end.

One of the problems with Heroes is that the character's powers seem to switch willy-nilly from one character to another. I can never tell what it is that Peter is able to do. And now Matt seems to be getting Isaac's old powers. And suddenly Mohindar seems to be Spider-Man.

I like that they're influenced by comic books. I can relate to that. But I wish it was a smarter show. I'd have preferred it if they had established the characters and then had them engage in various adventures. But they're all in such constant flux that it's head-spinning.

The problem is the whole bending-of-time-and-space thing. It's easy to get lost in when scenes are taking place, especially like last week, when you had two Peters running around at the same time. That was odd.

they need to spend more time with individual characters... they did that better in season one, i thought.

I agree. As it is now, it's just a big train wreck.

Can anyone follow it any more?

People tell me I look like the cop in the show. The first year it was on, I heard it constantly. Our hair was similar, and we have a similar build, but I didn't think we looked that much alike.

it's just too rushed.

I get the feeling that they are trying to make up for the episodes lost to the strike last year. Heroes was at its best when it moved more slowly, and concentrated more on character development - it has to get back to that.

It's just an awful jumble. It reminds me of what eventually happened to X-Men comics. Chris Claremont had an initial burst of creativity and turned out several years of great stories. And then he just got buried under the mythology he had created and the stories became unreadable.

As I said in another thread, if it wasn't that I watch it with my son, I would have given up on it after last season.

Last night's episode was fun. I feel like the plot has now settled down a bit...although it's still confusing. Getting back to character development would be nice, but it's hard with so many pieces. Some of these guys are going to have to die.

I've all but given up on it being an intelligent show, and will now settle for merely entertaining.
