More writing sales.

I just sold a story, Saving Hitler to Space and Time Magazine. I've been marketing this particular one for 16 years and finally found someone who wanted to take it.

I also recently discovered I sold a review to The New York Review of Science Fiction. The really strange thing about that was that I never sent them any review. The first I heard about this was when they sent me the galleys to go over for typesetting.

I had written the review for Tangent Online, which folded before it was published. I forgot about the review but evidently the editor of Tangent Online sent it to the editor of NYRSF.

As someone on the receiving end of manuscripts, I can say that this sort of gracious treatment almost never happens. You must've made some kind of impresson.

Don't I know that. :)

But the editor of Tangent owes me big time for some (non-writing) favors I've done for him. I'm guessing that when the two editors talked, he was willing to send the review along.

16 years, it just shows how persistance can pay off. Congratulations on selling your story and a review.

Does the story deal with time travel?

I'm a big fan of such stories.

Of course. :)

I just checked -- I sent the story out 30 times, including three times to one market (they kept asking for rewrites but then rejected it), twice to three others (one editorial change, one request to resend in a year, one lost manuscript). Only six of the markets are still operating. Some I don't even recall.

Prior to this, the longest it took me to sell a story was 12 years, with a honorable mention for one that took 15 (it actually sold earlier, but the anthology folded and I still got paid for it). All three of these sold this past year, too. Evidently I'm writing in a time warp.

Im gonna have to check out this story.
Sounds kool.

I've never seen this mag Space And Time but I'll bet Borders has it.
Keep us posted as to when it goes to print.

Gratz on the sale of the story after all this time.
Thats one thing you can say about words : they never get old.
