I wish each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Amid these difficult economic times, we all still have much to be thankful for. May you enjoy a relaxing day of fellowship with family and friends.

I still put the stuffing in the bird despite all warnings that we will die from
doing it. Bird is in.

Shrimp cocktail appetizer

Turkey and stuffing
Mashed red potatoes
Corn
Brocolli and spinach
Salad
Irish beer sampler from Sam's

Probably forgetting something.

What's rickrolled mean?

The kids and I saw that - hysterical :)

I'm making a soda bread, we have a fresh turkey from the local turkey farm, my daughter is going to make mulled apple cider and mashed potatoes, and prepared stuff from the supermarket will round out the rest of the dinner.

When Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up makes an out of the blue appearance.

Although it's more accurate to say that the parade rickrolled us with Rick's appearance.

Happy Thanksgiving to all here and your families , my Mom is over from Ireland and Jessica's family are over from Puerto Rico so we will have a full house today , plus her family from NY so we are expecting about twenty .

Plus it's Lorcan's birthday tomorrow so we have a lot to be thankful for.

Being Rickrolled during the parade was awesome.

The WKRP bit is still the funniest Thanksgiving TV episode ever.

No, just the original.

I have to watch it on DVD since I don't know of anyone broadcasting it today.

Just finished watching, as a matter of fact. King Kong on Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday tradition.

Great stuff, but I was always more partial to the episode of The Bob Newhart Show with the drinking game.

For those who haven't seen it, Mental Floss had a nice recap of four classic Thanksgiving TV episodes.

There's always Miracle on 34th Street on NBC. The 1947 version, black and white - classic!

Or SNY has a Mets/MFY marathon going on. The Mlicki game is on right now, with the Matt Franco game coming up next.

The NFL really needs to look at playing a different team instead of the Lions on Thanksgiving , how bad are they?

My brother in-law who is a huge football fan had zero interest in watching it and instead we watched the Dave Mlicki game on SNY.

Kong76
Nov 27 2008 02:31 PM

They've been playing that game in Detroit since the 30's except a year here
and there during war time I think. That tradition isn't going anywhere.

Dallas sucks a lot of years too and we get force fed them every year.

The most intriguing game is tonight, which I can't watch unless I go out and
find a place with whatever carrier it actually is on.
