never, its disgusting and i have zero sympathy for anyone who started smoking after the dangers of doing so were widely known.

Not so much as a single puff.

Never tried any drugs either, other than alcohol.

Smoked heavily from the summer after ninth grade for about 15 years or so.

The rare puff with a friend. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I call it a pack a decade habit. Only once since KB's diagnosis.

Never. My grandmother died because she smoked for many years, and I watched as her health deteriorated because of it.

Now now, go easy on Namor ...

I'm sure he's praying for the weak-minded at temple today.

Pack a day for ten years... and tobacco free since October 30, 2001.

I was smoking over a carton a week when I quit. Marlboro red and white box
were always my favorite but I dabbled in some menthols, Parliament, and
Winston.

I've quit all my compulsive addictions except to beer and baseball. I don't
see that changing any time soon. I probably wouldn't be typing this if I
didn't change my ways back in the late 80's early 90's.

Five percent smoke rate so far.

i've got 17% (3/18) yes, currently, and 28% (5/18) either currently do, or once did.

Yes.
But because my daughters were allergic to it, I never smoked at home, in the car or while on vacation. And I still don't.
So I can be away from it for a week at a time, and then go right back to my occasional cigarette when I return.
Yes, I'm weak.

I tried a puff or two on my father's cigars as a youngster of 6 or 7 years old. It made me gag and cough, which forever killed any possible urge I may have had to smoke later in life. I have never taken a single puff of a cigarette and never had any desire to do so.

I never smoked cigarettes.

When I was a kid, I asked my mother what cigarette smoke tasted like (she was a smoker then, but quit). She said like burning leaves. I thought that was the most disgusting taste I could think of, so never tried it.

Never bought a pack myself, but in the past I'd bum a cigarette off someone at a party every now and then. Been a long time though. I'll never do it now, somehow the stale taste of a cigarette the next morning makes a hangover about 10 times worse.

I'll bust out a cigar at a special occasion once in a while but I don't even really have the urge that often.

I used to steal and destroy my mother's cigarettes when I was a kid. Probably breathed in enough 2nd-hand smoke to be a smoker. I can't stand smoke. It burns my eyes and stinks like hell. I'm all for vices, but don't understand why people would want a vice that's so unpleasant. Drink booze or pop pills instead!

I'm 35 and I have smoked I suppose since about 16 , I now smoke no more than two a day and some days none , I used to smoke more than a pack a day but since I now don't drink and am married I just don't have that lifestyle now.

Since I was in treatment in 2006 I have been taking a medication daily that was once prescribed for smoking cessation , that is not why I take it though but it certainly works for that too.

I should just quit .

Used to smoke. I smoked about half a pack a day (more when I went out) until about 2003 when the smoking ban went into effect. I tried quitting unsuccessfully many time after then, although I was able to cut down quite a bit. I quit in November of 2006 and haven't had one since.

Still crave one every now and then. In fact, after dinner on Friday nights, without fail, I will feel the urge to light up.

A few cigars each year. Never for cigarettes...I've seen too much damage to family and friends to even consider it.

Never.

Dad had cancer surgery to remove a kidney in summer 1975 when I was 10 and it scared me straight.

He's still kicking around 33 years later but never could really quit. He's tried a lot but has never been successful. He's now a 3-time cancer survivor having had his bladder removed this past April. A direct result of smoking.

The fact that he still has a few a day is more of a testament to the addictive qualities of tobacco rather than his being ignorant to them.

A handful as a (not very) rebellious yute - probably totalling a half-pack or so.
