Everyday in the Park

Everyday in the park
I see Marlon Anderson arrive
Everyday in the park
He hits a buffet table line drive
Marlon sitting, Marlon eating
Fried chicken and ice cream
Spicy Italian subs
Grmmmph-mmm-hm-hmm, chomp-mmph-mm-mm
Can he stuff it (yes, he can)
And he’s been chowing such a long time
Look at his waist

Everyday in the park
I see Anderson standing by
Everyday in the park
Waiting for his turn to arrive
Marlon sitting, Marlon chatting
A man blowing bubbles
Waiting for his call
Will you help us change a game?
Can you pinch hit? Yes, I can
And I’ve been waiting such a long time
For today…

Slow motion replays flash the memory of the day
When the fat man had an adventure you might say
Listen, Met fans, I will recall
I will recall…

On this day, in the park
June eleven, two-thousand five
On a ball, in the park
He made it home but barely alive
Marlon reaching, Marlon touching
A real bad collision
Stitches in his mug
Listen, Marlon, chubby Marlon
Can you pinch hit? Yes, I can
And I’ve been waiting such a long time
For buffet…

Mardie Cornejo
Sung to the "Scooby Doo Show" theme.

Mardie-Corne-jo, I don't know....Were you a mid reliever?
Mardie-Corne-jo, I don't know cause Grant traded Tom Seaver.

Looked up Corne-jo, now i know..that you did not pitch shitty.
And Rose may have pwnd you, but its true, that you pwnd Michael Schmidtty.

You know I quit the team the year before you came because of M. Donald Grants act.
Midnight wack!
And Corne-jo you didn't blow.
You make me wish I'd never turned my back.
I was slack!

Mardie-Corne-jo, where'd you go? They sent you down, a pity.
A trade then had you go, Corne-jo, unto the motor city.

You already got one vote from Nymr, so keep your head up, Z.

I like the TV theme angle. I think that's a first.

Great job, both!

Thanks Seo.

I saw the name Mardie Cornejo and thought who the hell is this guy?
That's when I decided I had to find a way to go with him.
As a consolation prize I have learned who he is and know more about him than I have any right to.

If I went with a song longer than a paragraph I may have been able to work in some of those Cornejo funfacts.

Actually the 'Beverly Hillbillies' theme got used in a Jack Fisher parody 3 or 4 years back.
