... now said to be down to a [u:1qycka3y]Two-Vote[/u:1qycka3y] edge for incumbent Senator Coleman over Al Franken.

Just call it a tie and let one hold the seat on Mondays, Wednesdays, and alternate Fridays, while the other gets Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Comedian and writer Al Franken would have so much fun with this.

I believe the Minnesota Constitution calls for a cage match to the death in this situation.

That Coleman is a cousin to former WFAN talkie Sid Rosenberg should disqualify him from holding any office higher than ... well just about anything.

And they haven't even left the realm of Minnesota's state courts yet, which means there is a whole list of federal courts they can still appeal to. yay for lawyers.

Time to settle it like Gabe Kaplan and Robert Conrad: 100-yard dash.

Election Drama coming to a state near you?

]The special U.S. House election in an upstate New York congressional district is now exactly tied. Democrat Scott Murphy and Republican Jim Tedisco have 77,225 votes each, according to the New York Board of Elections.

It would be pretty cool if that race ended in an exact tie. What happens then?

I suggest a UFC match until one of them submits and concedes.

In smaller races here in Michigan, the candidates flip a coin, draw straws or pull names out of a hat.

Doubt that happens for a U.S. House seat, though. Maybe it gets thrown into the Assembly.

Franken has been declared the winner, but Coleman apparently is going to appeal to the State Court, Federal Court, Margaret Smith Court, Judge Judy and the late Pigmeat Markham, hoping to drag this out until the seat is up for re-election in 2014.

Court Rules Franken Has Won Senate Seat

By KATE PHILLIPS

The Minnesota Supreme Court has just issued its long-awaited judgment in the Senate race, declaring that Democrat Al Franken is the winner.

The unanimous decision was released after a seven-months long battle over the seat formerly held by Norm Coleman. On every ground, the judicial panel rejected Mr. Coleman’s claims of trial errors or constitutional violations, and decided that Mr. Franken’s election should be certified by the state as valid.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty had indicated as late as Monday that he was willing to certify Mr. Franken as the winner once the state’s highest court decided the recount and Mr. Coleman’s battle. On CNN on Sunday, Mr. Pawlenty said: “I’m prepared to sign it as soon as they give the green light.

Norm Coleman, after the Senate seat was pried from his cold, undead hands:

"The Supreme Court has made its decision and I will abide by the results," Coleman told reporters outside his St. Paul home.

"In these tough times we all need to focus on the future, and the future is that we have a new United States senator," Coleman said.

Coleman loses to both Jesse the Body and Tom Davis's comedy partner.

If you're Coleman, that's got to give you nightmares.
