Feelings About Feelings

Talking about feelings, to me, is torture. I recommend it as an interrogation technique.

I hear you saying that talking about feelings is torture, and that it could be used as an interrogation technique.

I think Sesame Street has mostly jumped the shark but gotta say Dr. Feel is a scream.

I see where you're coming from, but I still love it. It's just different now.

Murray's my new favorite Muppet.

Feelings, Murray, or Sesame Street?

Feelings, I've started watching Sesame Street again. The Kid got Cookie Monster for his birthday and after lots of looking at him now likes him.

females like that shit. Feelings, i mean. not necessarily Sesame Street, the appreciation of which is not so gender specific.

But for most guys, talking about "feelings" is like talking in tongues. Or something you engage in to get laid when dating, but then hope, when you're married, you don't have to deal with any more... but it just gets worse.

half the time, when my wife asks about my feelings, i have no idea what she's talking about, and simply search my mind for the answer most likely to satisfy her, so as to short-circuit the conversation.

I just can't believe the work that doesn't get done while feelings are being examined.

Then we go back to our offices and feel so we have something to talk about at the next meeting.

This is prompted by me hurting somebody's feelings at the last meeting to talk about feelings. I needed to write a letter, opening my veins in apology, and now I've just sat through two other people re-writing it (out of concern for feelings) while I just stood there, took it, and thought about the un-employment scene.

It's like having your bollux put on display and examined by your inferiors while you sit there and watch it shrink as your shame grows. It's a junior high nightmare.

You know, our trade defecit wouldn't be so large if we counted all the feelings we export. Mother fucker.

There's a Muppet named Murray?

Dammit. I'm just getting past the Iron Maiden references....

Yep -- new last season. He starts the show with the "Word On The Street," and he has a new "Murray Has A Little Lamb" segment which makes me laugh pretty regularly.

Somebody tell Gina the Veterinarian that I haven't forgotten her.

I have no qualms about expressing my feelings or listening to others express
theirs. This ranges from the most personal of personal stuff to stupid crap that's
probably better left alone 95% of the time.

I'd likely be better off not expressing my feelings from time to time or leaving
the door open to get some feelings dumped on me but I gotta be me 'cause if you
ain't you then who the hell are you?

Edgy DC
Dec 19 2008 12:42 PM

Yeah, well, if I say something stupid (like I do every day) that offends you, you can (1) assume from my history that I mean neither malice nor rancor, (2) rip me to pieces like the fuck you always knew I was, or (3) tell a handful of other people more powerful than me, and then leave town, leaving me to smooth feathers or perish...

To your credit, you tend to take one and two.

that just plain sucks, i hate apologizing because some asshole is oversensitive and got offended over nothing. take your "feelings" and shove them, don't you all have work you could be doing instead?

See, I have no problem apologizing.

I have a problem that the person didn't bring the grievance to me and now I have to be coached in my apology while the grievent is off vacating in Colorado. And yeah, that I got no work done.
