Baby Alice, 369 days old, is somewhat puzzled as she is indoctrinated into the annual festival of crap that is Christmas.

Next year, I'll be a good greedy little American. I promise.

Cute kid - niece?

It is a festival of crap though isn't it?

I can't tell you how happy I am that the farce that is Hanukah or Chanukah or whatever the hell you call it - is ovah!

'Happy Hanukah! Aren't you so grateful that the oil in the temple lasted for 8 days? What a wonderful thing for our people to celebrate! Oh, by the way here is a $35 gift card from Best Buy'

Niece. Guinevere is in the foreground coaching her in the Christmas spirit.

Yeah, I've got a niece name Gunievere. What of it?

I see that, in classic Christmas Story fashion, the Lunchables aren't beneath gobbling wine on Christmas morning while watching the kids dig into the booty.

I got my Godson the "Bed, Bed, Bed" book/CD by They Might Be Giants when he was around 3 or 4, I guess, and hated bedtime more than anything. Was a cool book and catchy tunes and got the kid psyched to go sleep at least once.

"annual festival of crap that is Christmas"

Hey now Ebenezer, it's only a festival of crap if you let it become one! We've tried to low-key it and focus on the message a little bit more in recent years, which I agree isn't easy.

We found a tree with a beautiful cross on top!

And, of course, the Mets and New York themed tree in the Baseball Room.

Wasn't fathered by David Crosby was she?

Guinevere = French equivalent of Jennifer

Lorcan's a pretty cute kid.

RealityChuck is all about the Christmas spirit. Can't wait to see what Edgy gleans from the background of that photo.

Because, as we all know, they're more than meets the eye...

well, the rabbit ears will still work. but they need to be connected to the digital converter for the tv to understand whats going on, and be able to display the channels properly.

The rabbit ears are vestigal. We have cable, but they were attached to the set and couldn't be removed without breaking anything.

D-Dad and I saw the ball drop in Times Square, heralding in the New Year -

They'll do it all over again tomorrow night on TV. But we got a sneak peek. So far the New Year is looking pretty nice!

Plus there was a little kid in a stroller who asked her father why the new year was 2007. I told the kid it would look better on TV....
