Easy Resolutions Thread

No hard one's allowed here ...

I have an ipod with 6000 songs in it, I need to listen to more music in 2009.

I have a Mets collection of paper and cardboard that most would call extra-
ordinary, I need to organize it and enjoy it more in 2009.

I also resolve not to kick anyone in the cunt or punch them in the neck or
eat the corn out of their poo.

C'mon, that last one was funny.

I have close to a hundred rolls of developed film in boxes. They're already labeled and in chronolical order. I need to get some albums and put the best shots in them.

I listen to music quite often, but the vast majority of it is from the 20th century. I want to try listening to more current music to see if there is enough good stuff out there to make the effort worthwhile.

I want to lose more weight. I know that's not easy, but since I'm looking at losing 2-3 pounds a month, I think that it's realistic.

Easier resolution - I want to become more knowledgeable about photography and learn how to take better pictures.

Or refer to them as Jeets?

Kong - <i>"Resolved, Stevie Jeets is now SteveJIntangibles."</i>

I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that or I might have choked.

How many GB of IPOD audio memory do your 6,000 songs use up?

ok, so this isn't easy... I joined a gym between Christmas and New Years, and I've been going every other day... It opens at 4 during the week, and I've been there right at opening this week...

5645 songs (to be exact) uses ~ 22.3 GB ... I have one of those black hole
ipods so I'm only at 41%.

Thanks. I don't own an IPOD and don't know what a black hole one is. I asked you about your memory usage because I want to purchase one and was trying to determine how much memory I might need.

(Thread Hijack Defense): I promised myself I'd get one this year, mainly because I'm sick of bringing CD's into my car, where the jewel cases inevitably get scratched, scuffed, chipped, cracked and/or shattered. Not to mention that with an IPOD, I'd always have my entire music collection in the palm of my hand.

Using the information KC provided, 41% full with 22.3 GB, then I would expect that he has roughly 55-60 GB of total storage on his IPod. A 60 GB drive will hold approximately 12,000 songs of 5 minutes length each (or 15,000 songs of 4 minutes).

Just keep in mind that you can store approximately 250 songs of 4 minutes each for each 1 GB of storage space. Hopefully, this will be helpful.

I took KC's 5645 songs and divided it by 22.3(GB) to derive about 253 songs per GB. I assumed that KC's collection is typical (as far as length of songs go) and that, thus, 5645 songs is enough of a sample size that I wouldn't have to worry about length of song. (Unless he's got a disproportionately high number of bootleg concerts on his IPOD, which often aren't indexed by song and register as one long song (the entire length of the concert).

Yeah, I got one of those 60 GB ones. By black hole I only meant that when
I got it it was considered a large amount of storage and that I'll never fill it.
