Yes, another lefthanded hitting outfielder. Woot!

He played for the Pirates most his career. Has OK power.

Omar is channelling Andy Rooney:
"Look at all these new mediocre lefty hitters I have here on my desk..."

He has some value if last year was an aberration. He's otherwise a better hitter than Reed, Sullivan, or Anderson. But a righthanded hitter would be nice too.

I had either forgotten - or never knew - that he's played a bunch of infield positions in the past as well.
Not too much recently - but the fact that he can may be worth a tie-breaker in his favor.

If your name is Marlon Anderson all these recent signings can't make you too secure.

ML Games played by position:
OF - 541
RF - 278
CF - 174
3B - 174
LF - 151
2B - 59
1B - 10

Not sure what, if any, injuries have reduced his playing opps over the last year or two.

He's worn a number as awkward and crooked as a Polish name --- 59. If he makes the team and continues in it, it would be the highest number worn by a batter --- excepting brief emergency numbers like Hubie Brooks' 61.

Mack in 59 could also help get the taste of Guillermo Mota out of our mouths.

It should be noted that Mackowiack obtained 59 while with the Pirates, who have their own rules as to what makes an appropriate number.
