Lincoln Hawk Conference finals pits the only surviving No. 1 seed, Back to the Future, v. the "romantic comedy for guys" (cough). Future has blown away Crocodile Dundee, the Blues Brothers and Airplane on its way. Bull Durham has faced dramas and unintentional comedies exclusively, beating St. Elmo's Fire, Stand by Me and Rain Man. Voting ends at noon Tuesday.

I'm exercising the write-in portion of my ballot to vote Purple Rose of Cairo. An 80's movie contest with no Woody? First no Doc Gooden segment in Ken Burns' doc and now this.

A lot of good movies didn;t make the cut. Interesting in that I tried to limit the field to "popcorn" flix -- popular comedies, mainly -- and half the final 8 are drama/sci-fi.
