I'm getting into Classical music , ever since Lorcan was born we have been taking him to music classes on Saturdays.....music together is the program , also he loves the Baby Einstein - Baby Mozart series. So last week I on iTunes I purchased The 50 Most Essential Pieces of Classical Music. The kid loves it and starts clapping as soon as it's turned on, in fact he seems to like music in general.

Got to say I like it a lot too, only $11:99 at iTunes.

favorite of each and every one of you ...

Ooh, new Better Than Ezra.

Actually a disturbing amount of good stuff coming out. BTE, Green Day, DMB, Chickenfoot, Dream Theater, another Matthew Sweet/Susanna Hoffs covers album, the Ben Folds that just came out yesterday that none of the freaking Best Buys have around here. Good times.

Picked up 21st Century Breakdown over the weekend. I agree that it 's not quite as good as American Idiot, but I like it.

Re: What are you listening to in 2009?

A good collection, lots of my favorites of his, lacking Tears in Heaven and If I could Change the World, though. Also some stuff I skip. Has Layla, Let It Rain, and the lovely Presence of the Lord and Let It Grow, which I always have thought they should have made an instrumental only. Oh hang on, I'll try to fix the picture. Oh the hell with it, I don't want you to know anyway.

Re: What are you listening to in 2009?

I'm ripping a bunch of CDs I bought recently onto my iPod in prep for a long plane ride, so this pretty much represents what I've gotten over the summer: Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs - Under the Covers 2 Girlyman - Everything's Easy Steve Earle - Townes Sugarland - Live on the Inside (Yes, I know, but they cover The One I Love and part of Nightswimming) Ingrid Michaelson - Everybody Son Volt - American Central Dust Wilco - Wilco (The Album) Anthony da Costa - Not Afraid of Nothing Amy Speace - The Killer in Me Richard Shindell - Not Far Now A Fine Frenzy - Bomb in a Birdcage John Elliott - Too Many Ghosts Carbon Leaf - Nothing Rhymes With Woman

Weezer (Red Album) [Deluxe]. The 'Deluxe' edition comes with 5 additional tracks, all of which are - in my humble opinion - very good. Combined with the additional tracks, 10 of the 15 songs are good to very good. I'm loving this record.

Wired the laptop (which has Sirrius/XM) to my receiver and I've had 74 BB King's Bluesville on for two hours. Sounds sweet through five Bose speakers.

"Embryonic", the new Flaming Lips album. Good stuff. I was a little worried, since the last album, "At War With The Mystics", was a huge disappointment to me. But this one is a grand slam.

Nirvana, Live at Redding. I somehow missed this when it was released, but reviews of this thing are insane, including "one of the greatest live rock and roll albums ever" (allmusic guide). http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=am ... zlald6e~T1 Gonna LaLa it in a minute and probably buy it after work.

I can't wait to get it.....I remember the talk in the music mags back home after this gig....it's often rated as an all time great live concert.......Reading used to be a huge event....maybe it still is.

Amazon selling a lot of mp3 albums for $5 measly bucks, today only. Way cheaper and cooler than a new (old) Mets jersey. http://www.amazon.com/gp/b/ref=pe_26200 ... 2236008011

Plus you can get $3 off by using the code MP34FREE. So you can get one for $2. Sure, it's a trick to get you to download their downloader software, but still... got the new Mike Doughty tunes for two bucks. Not bad.

Noticed today that suddenly I can't read the liner notes anymore! Teeny tiny little white font on gold paper, I wonder if any of U2 can still read them either, lol... I still think Desire sounds like an old Monkees song

Just found out now that Simple Minds re-recorded this for their new album. I kinda like SM but this doesn't really compare. Kerr has gone gravelly-voiced in his old age too. h[url]ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmXtLLYUYi0 btw, I meant to post this in Track of the Day.
