Petey works out for DR in Mets togs:

This is the National League, sir.
We don't like to use the word "designated" around here.

Unless this Spring we read the words "The Mets have designated Luis Castillo for assignment", that is.

Actually, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Murphy posted numbers similar to those of Jefferies', and that would be okay.

Green has a very unusual delivery.

Not really sidearm, but long-limbed so that his elbow is like 4 feet from his body when he throws. Like he's trying to throw a dart in double 15

F-Mart in action.

My shots can't compare, but I like this one of Church.

Good news. I think I've detected a flaw in Redding's delivery.

Is it me, or is Bobby O styling himself in Darlingesque fashion these days?

At first glance I thought that was Ron Darling....minus the gut...

Either Jay Horwitz or Gary Cohen is my hero. I bounce back and forth depending on the day.

Thing is that accounts from the day had Ojeda being a night owl. He's not the first one I'd guess would have kept himself in shape.

Teufel makes sense. Mookie, sure. Not Ojeda.

Anyhow, he had a falling out with the team as a pitching instructor, so it's nice to see him put that behind him.

Lookit Garrett wearing 45. What do you think Tugger would say?

It was Garrett in 45 that led me to conclude this was 1969, Garrett's rookie year. I think McGraw missed that camp with military commitments.

I'm thinking spring training because Ralph and Connors are in away uniforms, and the rest in home togs. Besides, "special batting instructor" is such a spring training honorific.
