Sure, you could do the chocolates, and pay a premium, get flowers and pay through the nose, but let's use our brains here. Post your ideas NOW!!!!

Take her to see Friday the 13th.

Seriously, hoping to go out for a nice dinner , have not done that for a long while.

Tell her you love her enough to free her from the expectations of a farcical quasi-religious ritual in which we submit to capitalist manipulations that play our mutual insecurities off of one another. Tell her you love her enough to break that chain, and by freeing each other, you can raise your children in a world that much more free. That's how much you love her.

That always works.

You must know the movie she feels is the most romantic she's ever seen.
Get her a DVD of it.
And, even if you hated it, watch it together.

we're caving into the quasi-religious ritual that edgy so despises. we're going out to a nice restaurant that we love for their special v-day menu.

We pretty much ignore it.

I'll say "Happy Valentine's Day" and I'll get the same in return.

And that will be about it.

Yes, I know how lucky I am!

We're staying in on Saturday and having a quiet dinner.

But we're an old married couple. Since you have two little ones, you should really spring for the sitter and take your wife out, so she can eat a meal without having to cut someone else's food or get someone a bottle.

And honestly, you can never go wrong giving her a nice piece of jewelry....

Dying.

We will be trying to teach Jr. Lunchpail how to ski in Vermont this weekend at the in-laws rental. Actually we're leaving in a couple hours. I am gambling I will find inspiration up there.

Bill Gallo has the solution in today's Daily News: A cartoon showing Basement Bertha using contorted body poses to spell out the words "I LOVE YOU"

He says, just clip it and hand it to your valentine.

Boom! You're done!

Just be sure to get to the paper before your sweetie does. Either that, or pick up two copies of today's paper.
