IGT, 09/07 - commence cheating! Mets at Braves
KC Sep 07 2005 06:39 PM |
Matsui 2b
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 07:07 PM |
Kc, the Braves have been kicking our ass when we field a full nine man starting unit. I don't think we should play them without a shortstop tonight.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 07:15 PM |
that would leave a BIG hole in the infield...... just sayin
Zvon Sep 07 2005 07:17 PM |
and the guy not in thie line up singles and steals second.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 07:20 PM |
now Beltran bunts.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 07:30 PM |
Wright singles in another.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 08:04 PM |
when i see Galvine have a smooth 1st inning, i figure we are gonna see a smooth pitching performance for the night.
cooby Sep 07 2005 08:38 PM |
And Cliffie gets a hit! The cheater!
Zvon Sep 07 2005 08:42 PM |
you skipped the part where furcal scored, but thats kool.
cooby Sep 07 2005 08:43 PM |
Well that's true. He cheated too!
Zvon Sep 07 2005 08:48 PM |

lol. Nice catch by Beltran. Was that Jones single fair? damn, that was close. Cliff hustle keeps it to a single. (its the 7th inning and i just found out now the games on ESPN2 here---DUH!)
Zvon Sep 07 2005 08:50 PM |
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:01 PM |
YEAH letting Hudson hit. Big fan of that move.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:07 PM |
lmao Tom gets out of that jam.... Glavine is gettin the calls. Pitchin his game. Up to 92 pitches, but i dont really think that matters much with a pitcher like Glav who dont throw heat. he can go nine, or at least get it to Looper (Id rather see him go 9 if there are no complications)
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:08 PM |
1 out single for beltran.
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:10 PM |
I'll take one more insurance run here... but I'd still like a complete game (loss) from Hud for fantasy league purposes.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:12 PM |
isnt it tuff when you have a fantasy pitcher goin against the Mets? I have Smoltz on one a my teams. Floyd walks. 1 & 2nd no out...Wright at the plate
cooby Sep 07 2005 09:13 PM |
That's why all my starting pitchers are either Mets or American Leaguers
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:14 PM |
Hey, Carlos! Way to take the bat out of the hands of the best hitter on the team!
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:14 PM |
Beltran!!!!!!!!!!
Frayed Knot Sep 07 2005 09:14 PM |
"... but I'd still like a complete game (loss) from Hud for fantasy league purposes."
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:15 PM |
Hey, I said "loss." It's all good. :)
martin Sep 07 2005 09:15 PM |
i refuse to take players that would oppose the mets on my fantasy team. i have no NL east guys.
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:15 PM |
Party at martin's house!
cooby Sep 07 2005 09:16 PM |
And you won this TV from the Mets? PS, I think all my guys are either Mets or American Leaguers, not just the pitchers, now that I think of it
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:18 PM |
Congrats to Jose Reyes on his 50th stolen base of the year!!!!
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:19 PM |
I tried to make this happen. During the draft and over the season. Between both teams i have Reyes Wright Benson Piazza(backing up Pudge Rod) Glavine(had him, dropped him b4 the AS break, duh)
martin Sep 07 2005 09:21 PM |
wright has been the real force behing my fantasy team. he has performed way above the level of where he went in most drafts. next year i gotta think he is a top 5 NL 3b.
cooby Sep 07 2005 09:21 PM Edited 2 time(s), most recently on Sep 07 2005 09:23 PM |
I have all the Mets starters except Trachsel, plus I have Looper and Zambrano,
KC Sep 07 2005 09:22 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Sep 07 2005 09:24 PM |
I gave up on roto years ago because Sept was not meant for counting
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:22 PM |
The strategy of avoiding players the Mets face is SOOOO self-defeating. I used to make the same mistake, and my teams did terribly. Now, all I do is refuse to draft Yankees or Braves.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:24 PM |
......complications.
cooby Sep 07 2005 09:24 PM |
A lot of my other guys are Red Sox. I'm trying to cozy up to Bret
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:24 PM |
Glavine did a nice job today. He's pitched well recently. Let's get him a W, Bert.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:25 PM |
cripe, i forgot, I had him too. Dropped him after the 'face off' with Carlos.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:27 PM |
Hernandez is big here.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:27 PM |
On my team I have the following Mets:
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:28 PM |
throw another breaking ball....DONT SHOW HIM THE FAST BALL again.
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:28 PM |
I had Glavine at one point, but dropped him quickly. Picked up Zambrano a few months ago, and picked up Seo after his first start back, so that's been a nice boost. Tried to get Wright, but his owner's a big Mets fan too, so that wasn't gonna happen.
martin Sep 07 2005 09:29 PM |
domo arigato, mr roberto
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 09:31 PM |
Great effort by Glavine tonight. Hopefully Roberto can preserve a victory.
Frayed Knot Sep 07 2005 09:32 PM |
Nice job by Berto. I'd be sooooo tempted to stick w/him for the 9th except that his turn of bat will come up here.
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 09:35 PM |
Diaz with a rope into the RCF gap for a stand up double with one out in the ninth. Come on guys, we need insurance.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:36 PM |
Slap one, Jose!!!
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 09:36 PM |
2 down, Diaz on third and Reyes, popppppsssss it uppppp.
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:36 PM |
Make or break, Loops.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:37 PM |
Goddammit.
TheOldMole Sep 07 2005 09:39 PM |
I hate one-run leads in the ninth.
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:39 PM |
DAMMIT DIAZ! Do NOT jog after the ball in the bottom of the goddamn ninth inning!! Why the hell is he still out there?!?!
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:39 PM |
if Looper blows this, I will go mad.....
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 09:40 PM |
Franceour with a lead off double into the right field corner. Looked like he could have had a triple if he wanted to push it.
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:42 PM |
Get Tim Freaking Hamulack into this game. I hat Braden Looper (and Victor Diaz, although he's lucky as hell that was only a double).
cooby Sep 07 2005 09:42 PM |
I predict a old original jb appearance
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:43 PM |
One HUGE out. Franceoueur still at second.
TheOldMole Sep 07 2005 09:43 PM |
Two outs. And I don't like that graphic about the 11 Brave wins'
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:44 PM |
Looper induces the pop up.
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:44 PM |
Is Mole's TV on some sort of reverse delay, where he sees things before they happen?
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 09:45 PM |
oldmole - "Two outs."

Looper.

Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:47 PM |
unFUCKINbelievable!
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 09:48 PM |
Mole, throw that TV out the window. It's apparently broken, muuch like the Mets.
Frayed Knot Sep 07 2005 09:49 PM |
This has not been a good year for Looper.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:50 PM |
you are being too kind. He just hurls the ball. He dont pitch
ABG Sep 07 2005 09:50 PM |
If Minaya isn't on the phone right NOW!!!! with Billy Wagner's agent, he's got some explaining to do.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:50 PM |
I'm always surprised by how short the time frame is between when we realize Looper sucks and when people forget about it.
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 09:50 PM |
Nice dig by Eyechart on an absolute rocket in the dirt from Reyes. Two outs, and Langerhans on third representing the winning run for the evil empire of the south.
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 09:51 PM |
Can we bring in Dwight Gooden, circa 1986, now?
KC Sep 07 2005 09:51 PM |
I actually feel sorry for Glavine, and I don't particularly like him much.
ScarletKnight41 Sep 07 2005 09:52 PM |
I hat Looper.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:53 PM |
lmao I needed a laff, thanks
cooby Sep 07 2005 09:53 PM |
Looper may be a good choice for us all to dump from our teams. Grrrrr
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:54 PM |
drunk even. LOOPER______DONT even go into the clubhouse. Just walk out the back of the stadium and keep walkin.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:54 PM |
See, I never had Looper on my team. I didn't want him.
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 09:55 PM |
The starters (pitchers) all did their job in this series. They should sue their teammates, particularly those wielding such impotent bats, for none support.
cooby Sep 07 2005 09:55 PM |
I only took him because he is the Mets closer :(
cooby Sep 07 2005 09:56 PM |
Extra innings.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:56 PM |
Matsui, Beltran, and Floyd coming up. They'll probably bring out Farnsworth, but if they bring out Kolb, we can shell his ass.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:58 PM |
Reitsma, eh? We can take him.
ScarletKnight41 Sep 07 2005 09:58 PM |
You know how a cat will have a mouse in its clutches, but instead of simply killing it the cat will toy with it and toy with it and toy with it before killing it?
Zvon Sep 07 2005 09:59 PM |
I dunno if this makes me feel good stuff about the Mets or further depressed. We have wasted some good efforts at a time we really needed them. Beltran singles with one out. COMEONN CLIFFFFFFFY!
Valadius Sep 07 2005 09:59 PM |
Beltran gets on.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 10:00 PM |
Who are we sending out in the bottom of the inning?
Valadius Sep 07 2005 10:01 PM |
Floyd walks, and here comes Wright... oh boy!
Zvon Sep 07 2005 10:03 PM |
floyd walks.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 10:04 PM |
I was wondering why the pitch count wasn't moving.
Rotblatt Sep 07 2005 10:05 PM |

Zvon Sep 07 2005 10:05 PM |

Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 10:06 PM |
Single to left for right loads the bases with one out. He hit it too damn hard for Beltran to have a chance of scoring from second.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 10:07 PM |
wicked single.
Rotblatt Sep 07 2005 10:08 PM |
Wright singles but Beltran inexplicably held up at third. Bases loaded for Dougie and the lefty Foster comes in to pitch to him.
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 10:08 PM |
I had given up on this game -- I forgot that "Lost" was on -- but I'm back. Woody, time to be a hero.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 10:08 PM |
JIM BROWER!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 10:09 PM |
WOODIE!!!!

Zvon Sep 07 2005 10:09 PM |
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Rotblatt Sep 07 2005 10:10 PM |
Or you could put Woody in there and have him single in a run.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 10:10 PM |
THANK YOU JIM BROWER ONCE AGAIN FOR CONTRIBUTING TO OUR CAUSE!!!
seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 10:11 PM |

Rotblatt Sep 07 2005 10:11 PM |
Oops. Not a walkoff. They're in Phillie.

Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 10:12 PM |

seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 10:12 PM |
Looper? Again? With the Joneses coming up? You're kidding, right, Willie?
Valadius Sep 07 2005 10:13 PM |
WWSB better be bluffing.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 10:13 PM |

Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 10:13 PM |

seawolf17 Sep 07 2005 10:14 PM |
LOOPER! Will you cut it the goddamn hell out?
Valadius Sep 07 2005 10:14 PM |
Oh look. Larry gets a leadoff single. Once again, WWSB screws us over by being dumb.

Johnny Dickshot Sep 07 2005 10:20 PM |
Don't think it matters who comes in now.
Rockin' Doc Sep 07 2005 10:21 PM |
After getting ahead of Father time Franco 0-2, Looper walks him to load the bases with no outs. Here comes Franceur.
Zvon Sep 07 2005 10:22 PM |
yea, that was a wicked linedrive single. He could not have scored and the braves would not have conceded that run,. he would have been out.
Valadius Sep 07 2005 10:22 PM |
Looper = Soon-to-be-ex-Met if Dr. Joseph and his son, Dr. Jeffrey Dellarusso did an adequate job on Omar.

Zvon Sep 07 2005 10:37 PM |
its right up there with some of my tuffer Met experiences all right. Now 4 vs. St Loo? Maybe it is time to roll out the fat lady now........... I dunno. Wasting Glavines effort thru Looper and THEN running him out there again......... He failed at his assignment. You dont stick with him......not after how he just tossed fastballs over the heart of the plate and said 'here, tie it'. There are other arms. I just dont get Willies thinkin there. I gotta step off....Ill be back.

The entire history of the Mets against the Braves in one pitch - Castro hits a bullet that could have broken the game open- right at Rafael Fecal.

If the Mets rebound from this, in any way, shape, or form, I will be amazed.

Stick a fork in us, we're done, even though we lost I tought Takatsu showed some balls, very nearly did it.
DocTee Sep 07 2005 11:30 PM |
Fork us...
smg58 Sep 07 2005 11:40 PM |
Takatsu was a September callup, who would still be pitching for the White Sox if he were any good, and Willie brings him into TWO absolutely critical bases loaded situations? I guess he didn't take enough heat for the first one. Willie shows no confidence in a guy who pitched a one-hitter for him earlier in the year, but keeps showing confidence in a guy who keeps proving he's not up to the job. Takatsu will get Willie run out of New York if he's not careful. And maybe that wouldn't be a bad thing.
86-Dreamer Sep 08 2005 08:22 AM |
I am sure Looper would have found another way to blow it in the ninth, but did anyone else think that leadoff double was a foul ball? Maybe I am blind, but the replay that caused Keith to say "definately a fair ball" prompted the exact opposite reaction from me (and caused my 3 year old to blurt out "Stop yelling Daddy!"). Of course, Willie had no objection to the call.
Elster88 Sep 08 2005 09:05 AM |
Wow. Now I'm glad I fell asleep and missed the end, though I was pissed when I first woke up this morning.
