We’re headed to the homestretch now... but how closely have you been watching? Following are a list of esoteric stats for the season: I need the Met who ranks the best/most AND least/worst in each category. You needen’t provide me with the numbers EXCEPT for the Bonus Tiebreaker Question below.

Rules (read these): Absolutely no looking it up. Limit your guessses to those Mets who have ammassed more than 150 PAs this season (Jacobs and Williams don’t count; Anderson & Woodward do). I’m too busy to be checking and correcting multiple guesses, so guess once, answer all the questions, and I’ll grade your papers later (around 4 p.m.). In the event of a tie the Poolian who guesses cloest to the bonus tiebreaker question will be crowned champion and receive the Dickshot Cup (that is, a cup of tap beer) in a gala awards ceremony at Shea Stadium (game ticket not included).

EDIT: Just to be clear, these are all offensive leaders/laggards I'm looking for. No pitchers count.

Ready? Here’s your first subject. Go:

1. Pitches per plate appearance (most/least)

2. Runs created per 27 outs (most/least)

3. Walks to strikeout ratio (best-highest/worst-lowest)

4. Isolated Power (best/worst)

5. OPS vs. Left-handed pitching (highest/lowest)

6. OPS vs. Right-handed pitching (higest/lowest)

Bonus Tiebreaker: How many Official At-Bats have the Mets ammassed as a team this year (as of today, per ESPN stats)?

ANSWERS

1. Pitches per plate appearance
Most: Cameron 4.06 (a key correct guess for Centerfield -- the only one to get this right. I was rooting for everyone to get this wrong)
Least: Cairo 3.52 (confirming his hacktastic ways was the thing that inspired this kwiz -- actually, a journey to diocover just how many times he retired himself on a single pitch -- seems like every time when I’m watching). Congrats to Gwreck and Bret Sabermetric for nailing this one.

2. RC/27
Best: David Wright 7.48 (wham! -- everyone but Lundy got this correct.
Worst: Matsui 3.10 (everyone but Seawolf, edgy and Lundy got this one right)

3. BB/K Ratio
Best: Doug Mientkiewicz 0.83 (I wouldn’t have guessed it either -- And of you only Seawolf did)
Worst: I’d have accepted Matsui or Woodward, both at 0.29 --way to go Seawolf, Rottblatt and Bret

4. Isolated Power
Best: Victor Diaz! .240 Nobody guessed this correctly
Worst: Matsui .079 -- LF, Seawolf, Bret & Lundy get it right.

5. OPS-Lefties
Best: Wright 1.063 (Finally, a question that everybody got right!)
Worst: Cairo .524 (This really surprised me, even though Cairo sucking shouldn’t -- congrats to Seawolf and CF for getting this right)

6. OPS-RHP
Best: Floyd .920 (Good job, class: You all got this correct)
Worst: Matsui .592 (LF, Gwreck, Rott and CF with correct answers)

Tiebreaker: We didn’t need it, but I want to give a shout-out to Seawolf who missed by only 4 at-bats! Wow! He guessed 4420; the actual number 4416 -- the next closest guess, from Bret Sabermetric, 95 ABs away.

However, the winner of Dickshot Cup Of Beer is CF with 8 out of a possible 12 or 67%
The final standings:
1. Centerfield 8/12
2. Seawolf 7/12
3 tie. Rotblatt, Gwreck, Bret 6/12
6. LF 5/12
7 tie. EdgyDC, Lundy 3/12

Awesome. I love Dickshot beer.

Why does the above sentence sound so wrong...

Is it true that the free beer is only payable the next day and that if the winner isn't at Shea to claim it that the prize will be awarded to the first contestant you happen to see that night?

That's the version I heard anyway.
