My daughter sent me [url=http://nyulocal.com/on-campus/2009/02/18/take-back-nyu-takes-kimmel-in-the-2009-occupation/:2ezg68de]this link[/url:2ezg68de]. She's not involved, but is affected because the Kimmel Center is closed.

Probably just their version of adding pork to their demands. "And while we're at it, more Sun Chips in the vending machines!"

Yeah, it seems like the door is open for anyone to throw in unrelated matters at this point.

Forget sit-ins. I'm with John Lennon. I'm staying in bed until... well, until all sorts of stuff is fixed.

UNdemocratic? Social protest is one of the defining characteristics of a Democracy. Ask those college kids at Tianeman square.

Protest does not require the unauthorized occupation of private property, you are free to protest on the public sidewalk. you can't really compare that to what is necessary to protest in a non-free society.
I hope NYU has them arrested.

on edit- the whole thing appears to have ended rather quickly, including a joint statement by the NYU Democrats and Republicans (amongst others) denouncing the idiots.

namor:

And baton flogged after a good spray with high pressure fire hoses.

I dunno, I'm getting old (not as old as namor, of course) but it's refreshing to
see American youth give a crap about stuff ... even if I could care less about
whatever it is they might be all riled up about.
