RBI groundout by Cora and the Mets take the 1-0 lead.

And another scores on a single by Murphy.

Two out in the third before a two out double by Chris Gomez is the first hit against Ollie. That is followed by a walk. Jones up.

I thought Swoboda had Buford's homer.

Whoops, wrong Mets-O's game.

Four-nothing after five.

It's a bloody good time for Mike and Ollie to be hittin' high gear.

Ike Davis, a loaner from minor league camp, is 2-3 with a ribbie.

So, wait-- we SHOULDN'T dismiss him as a bust after a half-year of struggles?

Hi, I'm Darren O'Day. I just pitched 1 1/3 scoreless and hitless, with one walk and one strikeout, and I'm beginning to think I'm for real.

And if that doesn't work out, it's back out on the road singing for Panic! A Miserable Tribute to the Smiths.

Double play ends it at 4-zip. O's strand 11.

Wigs would've been a real nice addition as a supersub. Sigh.

I don't think that was ever going to happen. Signing guys to be subs who can be starters elsewhere is a tough trick to pull off.

Seriously they could be father and son , Ike Davis sounds like he should be singing Motown.

Ah. But that's the rub-- he's NOT starting-- just keeping things warm for the WBCers. (Huff's at first, Roberts is at 2B, Mora's at 3B, and the OF's chock full of younguns and Luke Scott.)

There was a good article on O'Day in yesterday's [u:29eb9e379d]Times[/u:29eb9e379d]:
