Marlon Anderson on way out?

"Actually, though, Manuel acknowledged in a roundabout way that Reed and
Pagan could both make the roster, although it likely would have to come at
the expense of Marlon Anderson."

This would be a good thing.

I have little doubt that Marlon's job is vulnerable, and he likely knows it. On the other hand, he's certainly outhitting Reed and most other comers this spring.

Marlon's had some fine odd-numbered years in a Met uniform. And this is an odd-numbered year.

Best I could do for a player I've always liked.

I like Marlon too, and if I squint my eyes enough, he seems like he could still be a good PH weapon. Jim Rice, to many, seemed the best hitter of his generation. Eyewitness accounts, obtained in a careful fashion, seem a reliable way to identify criminals.

Like weight gain, however, cold, hard numbers tend to undo a lot of "seems."

In Marlon's next blueprint, Marlon promises to improve the accuracy of all of his future blueprints.

So it is written, ....

I think that Marlon's record is stuck. Until he does something more memorable than when he delivered his blueprint. There's actually a Marlon Anderson thread here?

I'm just the messenger.
