The Opener at CitiField

Tomorrow, the new park will host an exhibition game between St. Johns and Georgetown. Since the game is in queens, I'd guess that St. Johns will be the home team. If so, the editorial from today's Daily News doesn't make sense:

The home team bats second. How will the Georgetown pitcher throw the first pitch? Something seems wrong. Anyone know if, since its an exhibition game, the Hoyas will be the home team?

College teams alternate home and away for conference games regardless of location. I don't know the schedule but I'm guessing they're playing a set Saturday in queens.

I didn't click on the link, so I don't know if I'm repeating here ...

They said on the broadcast today that the game will set a college attendance
record previously set with a similar game in San Diego when they opened.
It's another good opp for NY's to check out the new ballpark.

Who really cares if a Hoyanomoiya throws the first pitch or a Johnny?

Nobody really cares (actually, John Franco will throw out the first ceremonial pitch). But if St. Johns is the home team, then their pitcher would be the one throwing the first game pitch, since the Hoyas would be up to bat first. So, this seemed to be an error by the News editorial writer.
That's all.

I misunderstood, I thought the beef was Queens based St. Johns wasn't the
home team. I'm sorry, I just avoid the News and Post most days so I by-
passed the link and probably should have just clammed up.

I went to the game.

Was upset that a guy from Georgetown (which was the "home" team. . .at least they batted in the bottom half of the frame) hit a homerun and the apple didn't come up.

I booed.

While booing, I figured I was doing my part to help prep the stadium for the boo-birds who will inevitably turn on K-Rod the first time he does not convert a save.

It should be a rule that aluminum bats are unallowed in pro ball parks.

how underwhelming was the ping?

It was as underwhelming as "Touch, a boutique for female fans, by alyssa milano" was lame.
