Charges thrown out. Looks like the conviction will be overturned.

Teach you federal punks to mess with Uncle Ted.

Wow.

Does he get his reputation back?

How about his Senate seat?

Seems like this case was whipped up and rushed through for political advantage. Disgusting.

you know i'd be the first to cry foul if i thought that. but the charges were a long time in coming (just on the face of it, wouldnt YOU investigate something like that?) and the timing of trial, from what i read, was HIS decision because he wanted vindication before election day. whoops.

i'm glad he was finally cleared though.

Pretty disappointing that they blow a huge case over inability or unwillingness to follow basic disclosure regulatons.

If you can't make the case, drop it until you can.

Ted Nugent likes to come here to hunt. There used to be a local hunting column by some little lady named Shirley Grenoble and she reported on her expeditions with him.

Let's just say a reputation as a long-time senator who brought pork home is better than that of a long time senator who got convicted of a felony while in office --- still a pretty rare and disgraceful thing to have hanging over you.

btw, my bro-in-law is a Federal Prosecutor who, for the next year, is on loan to the U.S. Attoney's office that's investigating those who investigated Stevens in order to see whether someone stepped over the line during said investigation.
Just spent a week in Alaska interviewing folks about the whole deal.
