KTE will be up this evening when I get home. Just needs a few more tweaks. It'll hit before the game starts.

Snooze speculates this will be Marlon Anderson's final game as Livan starts tomoorow.

Howie downright prophetic talking about how Maine's propensity to work up in the zone leads to homers.

1-0 Marlins.

Can't provide quotes, but the tv booth was kinda saying the opposite before
the ding dong.

metirish
Apr 10 2009 05:41 PM

The quote I remember was from Keith , " there's another 8 1/3 innings to go but Maine looks great". His next quote was saying how impressive Hanley is.

Uggla with a bomb.

Fun booth fact, John Maine had 20.3% of his pitches fouled off ... highest
percentage in the majors (100 IP min)

Murphy pops out but sees 11 pitches in the process, i like that.

Not to be a total neanderfuck but I'll trade an 11-pitch popout for a 2-pitch smash to the wall anytime.

Apr 10 2009 06:40 PM

I don't much care for Reyes running in that spot.

JCP: Not to be a total neanderfuck but I'll trade an 11-pitch popout for a 2-pitch smash to the wall anytime <<<

Yeah, but he battled.

Kong76

7 retired in a row for Maine. Through five, the Mets down 2-sniffle.

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Apr 10 2009 06:46 PM

Tellya what's encouraging though: Maine with a quick efficient inning following that battle in the last one. Perhaps this will be the inning we get into Sanchez, after sorta knocking on the door a lot.

it arguably helped get Sanchez out of the game, and Beltran just knocked one out of the park off his replacement

Nymr83
Apr 10 2009 06:54 PM

2 outs tying run on 2nd, Maine leaves the game for a pinch-hitter, and Sheffield will face the lefty reliever

Nymr83
Apr 10 2009 06:57 PM

they tried to go after Sheffield but the count went to 2-0 so they just put him on. lets go Jose!

Nymr83
Apr 10 2009 06:58 PM

Reyes chased one (i thought) on the 1-0 pitch and popped out

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Apr 10 2009 07:01 PM

Can't say that sac bunt did us any favors.

Kong76
Apr 10 2009 07:03 PM

My head was spinning off my shoulders when he laid that down. And as Keith
pointed out, they easily had a play at second to boot.

I ain't gonna say bifl, oops, just did.

They're gonna lose this game. They're gonna lose this series.

Sean Green isn't earning any Schaefer this evening.

Kong76
Apr 10 2009 07:17 PM

He got out of it though.

themetfairy

Not unscathed.

Nymr83

The crowd sounds like its a (somewhat subdued) home game for the Mets

Delgado HBP, bases loaded!

OK, we're all set up now.

Beltran beats out the DP ball and bring a run ho,e on the FC, i'll take that.

I was thinking triple play. Now Church has gotta get it out of the infield.

Kong76
Apr 10 2009 07:37 PM

Is it wrong to be all wound up during a commercial during GAME FOUR
because the bases are loaded and I want some runs?

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Apr 10 2009 07:45 PM

Tough call on Castillo there.

Poor Schneid: Asked to bunt and then PH for in consecutive would-be hero turns.

I mean, if that's the guy we start we gotta think about starting someone else.

Lookit Parnell with the 7th inning in a tie game.

Gwreck
Apr 10 2009 07:48 PM

Thought that bunt by Schneider was really stupid as well. Also would have not taken Maine out in that spot.

Gwreck
Apr 10 2009 07:51 PM

Parnell's fastball vs. Hanley Ramirez. Big matchup here.

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Apr 10 2009 07:57 PM

Could be Marlon's last AB ever.

Gwreck
Apr 10 2009 07:58 PM

Is it just me or is our bullpen already starting to seem a bit overworked?

John Cougar Lunchbucket

fourteen men on base tonight.

Their #3 batter got a 2 out RBI. Our #3 batter didn't. Not the only reason, but c'mon David, let's go.

BTW, how come the f'in Marlins can clap their hands all game long and point to the sky after a 5th inning K, but the Mets are the showboats that the Marlins hate? Look in the mirror!

Maybe its' because Hanley Ramirez & the Fish have made the Mets their personal bitch
