Ronald Blum of AP covered the debut at Citi Field, and for resasons unknown to me, dropped this pile of ick way up in the story:

"The Mets have won just a pair of World Series titles, in 1969 and 1986, and remain overshadowed by the Yankees, who have a record 26 championships. Even in ballparks there’s one-upmanship — on Thursday, the new $1.5 billion granite-and-limestone Yankee Stadium hosts its first regular-season game, just three days after $800 million Citi Field, with its red brick exterior and 160-foot wide Jackie Robinson Rotunda evokes Brooklyn’s old Ebbets Field. "

Incredible

Yeah, the Mets only having an $800,000,000 stadium really affects my ability to sustain an erection.

The real issue is that there's a missing comma or dash or something, as that last sentence doesn't make sense.

I was bothered by the same thing, and I'm not even an award-winning editor. It was that bad. This could be something for your downfall of journalism thread.

I wish the Yankees all the best in their new federal building/post office.

Maybe Nick Swisher can come in from the bullpen and hear the ovation fall on him like a soft rain.

Wonder if he has an entrance song? Better not pick "Sandman" or Francesa's gonna be upset.
