Yellow Dot Weirdness

My yellow dots marking not read posts are disappearing and reappearing, usually concurrent with a strange click result. Like just now I meant to go from the Forum index page to the Bitch Forum (to complain about this very problem) and as I clicked instead of coming here, it reloaded the main index but with yellow dots restored. This also happened earlier when I tried to post a reply, instead got the main forum with yellow dots re-lighted. Anyone else having this weird behavior?

I've actually never had said yellow dots at all. That's useful. Not that I'm bitching (though it is the appropriate forum), as I've managed to live without 'em 'til now.
