He misremembered that it was a Led Zeppelin shirt.

Zeppelin got a better laugh than 'Mets T-shirt' would've though.

Is it too late to install him as manager for life?

And Ventura needs to be a bench coach somewhere. Or a hitting coach.

He tells the Bobby in disguise story. I like that he puts it in context of how crazy that whole time was.

It's amazing. He's flying with a jet pack, taking out Sudanese government goons from the air. They're mockingly harassing the civilian population, and then --- BAM! --- they never see it coming.

The next shot is him in a government lab, working on a chemical that neutralizes atomic waste. The math on the blackboard is a seemingly incomprehensible jumble, and when the blackboard fills up, one of the scientists gets up to get him a rolling blackboard, to expand his work. "DON'T MOVE an INCH, CHEN TSOI!" Bobby says in what I assume is flawless Cantonese, but I can only tell from the subtitles, "If you move, your train of thought goes. Our work is TOO IMPORTANT!"

He pulls a sharpie out of his pocket, and completes the formula on the wall. As he starts doling compound-mixing assignments among the gathered white coats in the room --- several Nobel laureates among them, recognizeable because they are wearing their badges --- he pulls out a can of spray polyurethane from the pocket of his lab coat, and coats the blackboard. The work is too important!

Finally it cuts to a black-and-white shot of him competing for USC in the 1970 NCAA ballroom dancing finals. He and his partner --- perhaps four inches taller than him in her heels, are ripping (absolutely ripping) through a dazzling mazurka, and then at the climax, he does this giant kick forward and then one turn together clockwise suddenly. On one hand, his partner looks surprised, as if he's improvising. On the other, she's delighted and completely gives herself to him, and folds into his arms with the trust of a child before throwing her head back with the passion of a woman.

The crowd explodes into spontaneous standing applause, and though she's merely his dance partner, she lays a passionate kiss on Bobby like she'd take him right there and then, but he gives her that smile we're used to, confident but a little in pain, and the mic picks up his gentle aside: "Don't move. I think I just broke my ankle."

It's too bad you can't see it.

I'm not sure, but I think the dance partner was a young Lynda Carter.

Hey Wilpons, appoint Bobby V "manager for life" and I will pay for that $69 ticket I balked at last week (just once though, then I go back to balking)

Then I'm glad the dance was a Mazurka instead of a cheek-to-cheek type of dance. Bobby never could have gotten that close to Lynda's cheek.
