I don't think I've ever bet the Kentucky Derby, but if I do this year, it will be for [url=http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thoroughbred/west-side-bernie/2006]West Side Bernie[/url] who shares a name and, within reason, a frame with my beloved first cat, East Rockaway Bernie. Go Bernie Go!

Bernie (my cat) would have liked that the winning horse was named Mine That Bird. He liked his windowsill perch for whatever flew by. "That bird," he no doubt thought..."MINE!" West Side Bernie himself finished ninth.
