Just back from a bidness meeting in San Francisco. Had a fragmentary following of Mets bidness.

1) Loved the thought of pulling the replacement for Oliver out of the pen. I didn't care how it turne out and I scarcely remember the last time the Mets did that (Dan Wheeler?) outside of September. Kind of pissed to come home and find out that the plug was pulled on Takahashi and Niese is getting the start.

2) Dropping pops to extend games = bad.

3) Good =

3a) watching the Yankees getting beat by Boston,

3b) seeing the Mets losing 3-0 on the crawl at the bottom of the screen, but seeing the 0 turn into a 2,

3c) the Yankee game going to a studio update to show the two runs came from Beltran homering to center, the studio announcer noting before he returned to the Yankee game that David Wright has just homered as well,

3d) seeing the score turn at the bottom of the screen, not to 3-3, but to 3-4, suggesting Delgado go on in between,

3e) watching more Yankee beatings,

3f) hearing the fans turn on them in their palace where nobody sits courtside,

3g) post-game reporting showing how Carlos finished the job.

4) Livan? Is fourth win in 25 career starts against Atlanta? Coolio.
