Hey, who does Kooze think he is, an Obama cabinet member?

Former two-time All-Star pitcher Jerry Koosman will plead guilty to federal tax evasion this month, Bloomberg News Service has reported.

Koosman, a left-hander who won two World Series games for the "Miracle Mets" as they beat the Baltimore Orioles for the title in 1969, was charged in Madison, Wis., with a misdemeanor for failing to file a U.S. tax return for 2002, the report said.

"Right now, we're working and cooperating with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Madison," said Robert Bernhoft, Koosman's attorney. "After [April] 22nd, we'll be much freer to discuss the case."

Koosman, 66, went 222-209 from 1967-85 with the Mets, Minnesota Twins, Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.

He posted 20-win seasons twice, with the Mets and Twins, and he was an All-Star in 1968 and 1969 with the Mets.

]failed to pay federal income taxes for 2002, 2003 and 2004, defrauding the government out of as much as $90,000, assistant U.S. attorney John Vaudreuil said. He also faces $25,000 in fines. ..... He told investigators he researched federal tax laws and concluded they applied only to federal workers, corporate employees and District of Columbia residents, court documents said. "I guess it's a combination of being naive and not being able to understand law as I read it or was told," Koosman told U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb during Friday's hearing.

that's a lot of money, and that's one hell of an explanation.

I think Snipes was actualyl one of those people who denied the legitimacy of the system (as opposed to saying "whoops, i interpreted this in a completely unbelievable way"
