I'm a complete idiot.

Started this thread wondering how Junior Ortiz became UMDB's "most popular lookup" and then saw the photo above.

D'oh!

Would traffic from here make Ortiz UMDB " most popular lookup"?. I ask because I imagine only a handful of people went from here to there.

I wonder. He had quite a few more hits yesterday than we have people here, so this may be some kind of cosmic coincidence.

Yesterday it was Cookie Lavagetto, and he's leading so far today as well.

I know I dropped his name in this forum yesterday, because of his role in the famous Marv Throneberry story. It looks like I wasn't the only one. (No real surprise there.) Some mention somewhere is causing Cookie to get Googled.

(By the way, it's kind of funny that the Mets have had two base coaches named Cookie and one named Mookie.)

Only two other Cookie's in MLB history: Cookie Cuccurullo (1943-1945) and David Ortiz 1997-2009 (aka "Big Papi," aka "Cookie Monster").

Dennis Cook was also occasionally referred to as "Cookie," at least he was by Big Al through watery eyes on a September night 10 years back.
