Pelf cruises through the first on a popup, a grounder and a whiff of Uggla.

I think the ump bails Beltran out. The ball appears to have hit the ground.

No real details, just hot air. Speaking of SNY spots and hot air, anyone catch Beningo and his ridiculous facestain talking about how the Mets are better off without Delgado. Blech.

The Mariners just lost Kenji Johjima. Maybe they'll give up Felix Hernandez for Ramon.

I found this in the Staten Island Advance:

Seattle newspaper reports indicate that the Mariners are looking to deal, and players like shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt and first baseman/DH Russel Branyan are on the market along with veteran starters Erik Bedard and Jarrod Washburn. But it would likely take more than Castro to land any of those players, particularly Bedard, who the Mariners acquired from Baltimore for Adam Jones (.357 average, 11 homers, 36 RBI) and pitcher Chris Tillman, who is currently 5-0 in Triple-A with a 2.13 ERA and 44 strikeouts and ranked as the No. 16 prospect in baseball.

Podsednik has nothing left.

At this point the Mets will trade Castro and eat a fat piece of that 2.5 mil they owe him in exchange for another live bullpen arm, or 5th starter candidate, methinks. Redding's recent suck-a-torium has got to factor into their thoughts.

Great game. Love those pitchers duels where you're already in the 8th inning with less than two hours elapsed.

Not given enough credit: Pelfrey. That's two outstanding starts in a row. The Ks are up as well.

Beltran was jawing extensively with home plate umpire Angel Hernandez at the end of the third inning. Shines came over and got between them but Beltran was still giving it to Angel about his inconsistent strike zone. Jerry was very slow getting out there and I was surprised that Beltran didn't get tossed.

I found the pitch that hit Tatis to be *very* suspicious, given that he'd ordinarily be walked to set up a DP with only one out.

In what I consider a MAJOR victory (besides Omir Santos kicking ass), the "Eighth Inning Singalong" tonight was not "Sweet Caroline"... rather, it was "Meet the Mets." Bravo.

Or maybe he was just jawing at Angel Hernandez on general principles. It would be understandable.
