I somehow missed Cora's activation. (Was he available for last night's game?) Who went away to make room for him? Was it Valdez?

Cora up, Pagan DL

Cora! Cora! Cora!

(If he were an MFY, I assume Sterling would be all over that one.)

In short,

IF: Cora in; RMartinez out
OF: Brown in; Pagan out

Also, Ohlendorf's a Princeton ninny. The gentleman in me tips my hat to a guy who earned his engineering degree while laboring in the D-Back farm system, while the Quaker in me says, "Fuck that noise-- stuff that eating-club-eatin' muthafucka."

That's Emil Brown, not, as I instinctively suspected, Leon "Motor" Brown.

That sounds more Mennonite than Quaker.

Sentence fragment jumped out at me like it wandered over from an Fman punchline.

My analrapist would have a field day with that.

FREE With Purchase of Any Other Book (or magazine). Love it.

I saw the prop version of that book on eBay once for like a billion dollars.

He could combine that call with the one where he drops A-Bombs on Matsui and we'd all be partying like it's 1945

I'd try to get Sheffield a rest.

And it was such a promising thread, too.

Surprised that there's not a doubleheader today, since the Mets don't have a scheduled return to Pittsburgh.

Neither team has to travel far after the game. The Mets are off to Washington and the Pirates are headed to Houston.

This game is being made up on July 2nd. Off day for the Mets; they'll be on the road between Milwaukee and Philadelphia.

I thought that as well then wondered if its b/c the Mets are considered a 'draw' in Pittsburgh and they didn't want to give up the gate on weekday as opposed to a week night. That's if it is rescheduled as a night game.
