IGT: Mets at Nats, 6/5/09

Chico Harlan is rooting for Putz to not make it back in time for Friday's game yet not be replaced on the roster. One fewer player to potentially bore him with baseball talk.

Chico Harlan wishes the series was at CF so he could enjoy Shake Shack.

Fman99
Jun 05 2009 06:36 AM

Chico Harlan loves Nationals Park. It's quiet there and it's the perfect place for him to do his beloved Sudoku puzzles.

The fuck.

Frayed Knot
Jun 05 2009 07:35 AM

No not Sudoku. Remember that Chico hates baseball because it's not intellectual or cultured enough.
He likes a quiet stadium because it gives him more time to read Proust.

Now we just have to hope it stops raining in DC.
Considering what they waited through trying to get Wednesday's game in -- in-stadium waterfalls and a near 4-hour wait;
plus what they played through on Thursday -- delayed start for game 1, truncated game 2, and steady and often heavy rain throughout both;
this game could either be played in shitty conditions or not started until midnight.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Jun 05 2009 12:09 PM

A quiet, non-vibratory stadium also gives him ample chances to catch up on his Kanji-- he's interested in the characters more than anything. (The nitty-gritty word-by-word? Not as much.)

Gentle misting... does this mean Jeter's coming to the game?

Second and third with no outs and the Mets don't score . On the plus side Redding looks good

Shit! After four good innings, Redding suddenly remembered that he sucks....

Okay, Gary, this would be the time to jack the crap out of one.

(Unless they're going to switch him for a lefty here as they bring in MacDougal.)

It's time for Bobby Parnell to Own the 8th Inning™.

Nothing against Parnell and company, but why pull Stokes after 12 pitches and dominance?

No, this is what a mediocre AAA game looks like.

I didn't notice any mention of it being national 'Get thrown out at 3rd Base' day on my calendar.
Either that or it's national 'Strand a Runner' day.

The one time I actually want Jerry to bunt and he won't do it: 5th inning, 1-run lead, 2nd & 3rd, none-out, and the power trio of Redding, Cora & Castillo due up.

It would be tough squeezing w/Redding since he's probably no good at it (he grounded out) but trying it w/Cora would have been the best option IMO. Turns out that he grounded out too and so we took a bagel in the inning when Castillo couldn't come through with a hit.
I mean if you're not going to squeeze there ...
